Does anyone else have trouble using vellum tape?:sad2: I hate it. It is just a mess and I think I'll be throwing it away. I made a scrapbook for my sister and I could only get vellum to go thruogh my printer so I used alot of it. It gets all over everything. People told me they had DOTS but my local AC Moore does not carry them.

Creative Memories sells frosted photo splits that are great for vellum. Very easy to use.

I hate the vellum tape too. Sometimes for vellum I'll use brads to hold it down or I'll use a regular tape runner and then stick a flower over the tape to hide it. Another thing you can do is take an exacto knife and cut strips in the vellum tape roll, then use tweezers to pick up the strips. It's a little less messy.

Cm splits, brads or eyelets! Or try shopping online for the gluedot ones

the vellum glue dots are not as great as they ( the glue dot people ) say. While its true that you cant see the glue dots through vellum, it just doesnt stick very well.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I did do the brads on some of the pages and the idea of cutting it into strips is great. I will check out creative memories.

Thanks again.

I use my xyron for vellum, and brads and eyelets. Also, sometimes I hide a corner behind something else and use regular adhesive so you can't see it. The worst problem I had with vellum tape is trying to peel the backing from it. What a pain!

the only problem I've ever had with vellum tape is one time on a light colored paper it came through looking a bit yellowish

3L makes a great vellum adhesive, it's in a purple case and I haven't had any problems using it. I also use brads and I want to try the CM vellum splits.

Hi!
I was just flipping through my new paper crafts magazine...low and behold they had a little ad for a product for vellum.
It's Vellum Glue dots... It's accid-gree adhesive that is completely transparent according to their summary...
Here is a link to what I found on their website.. I'm going to check and see if my LSS has it or Jo's this weekend...

I use the Scotch 3M vellum tape all the time (have been for years) and haven't had problems with it. I cut off very small pieces and attach it to the vellum first, rub that, then peel off the paper and place it on the LO and tap it over the tape. I don't rub it after it is on the LO as sometimes it is then noticable.
