And it's unjustified - just a points grab. We went the end of the week before Christmas and it wasn't crowded - the crowds were coming as we were checking out.DVC has lost the plot....what it the world could have compelled them to take the time, effort (and create the additional complexity/confusion) to bifurcate [Jun 1 - Aug 15] and [Mar 15 - Mar 23; Apr 1 - Apr 30] - the points differences are absurdly miniscule.
I am also very sad they've moved the week BEFORE Christmas into the highest points period.
Lit, as in as hot as a fire maybe. That’s the absolutely hottest time of the year around these parts and when you’re about 90% likely to see temps knocking on 100°. About 0% humidity of course, but it gets smokin hot around here in August and September.Wow, the new seasons. Talk about a frenzy. Aug 16 - Sep 15 gonna be lit.
Odd, I wonder why. They did remove it. Direct links to the PDFs still work.
Its was in the fine print at the bottom of the page. Seems odd, as Grand Cal does not have any of that listed on their point chart.Odd, I wonder why.
Also, I didn't see anything about paying for parking. Where is that? It would be the first DVC property to ask for parking fees.
The tax is weird, too, but seems to not be DVC's fault...
So for one month it's like Orlando's April and October?Lit, as in as hot as a fire maybe. Too expensive points wise?Im glad I decided not to buy.
Interesting how small the lock off premium isOkay, my style of points chart with average pts/night and total points/yr (for a single room) comparing VDH to VGC.

RIV for good measure:

VDH stuck closely to the POS. Adds up to ~3.26mil points prior to lockoff splitting if my prior guesses about room distribution were correct, too.
Well, it will be over 100° for most of that time, but yes (with zero bugs). So for one month it's like Orlando's April and October?
January 1-6 peak season also stood out to me.DVC has lost the plot....what it the world could have compelled them to take the time, effort (and create the additional complexity/confusion) to bifurcate [Jun 1 - Aug 15] and [Mar 15 - Mar 23; Apr 1 - Apr 30] - the points differences are absurdly miniscule.

For when we would go yes. Plus the extra fees. Parking and room tax. Doesn't seem worth it.Too expensive points wise?
The Founding Fathers never intended for me to pay nightly taxes on my timeshare real estate interest…For when we would go yes. Plus the extra fees. Parking and room tax. Doesn't seem worth it.
probably a play to get non-California buyers who would come out during a holiday break and local buyers who want to do weekend tripsOther observations about the points chart.
The 'weekend effect', the typical difference between a weekend night and a weekday night is smaller than I was expecting, and smaller than at VGC. It's 1.14x - 1.18x at VDH but 1.25x - 1.27x at VGC.
Also, slightly unexpected with 7 seasons, the 'holiday effect' (the ratio between peak season and average) isn't really greater than at VGC. It's actually lower, except for Duos.
- VGC's is 1.37x - 1.47x, with Studios at 1.37x and 1BR/2BR/GV between 1.43x and 1.47x.
- VDH's is 1.32x - 1.52x, with Duos at 1.45x - 1.52x, Studios at 1.34x - 1.4x, and 1BR/2BR/GV at 1.32x - 1.38x.
Hardly. It was over 100° exactly two days during that period in 2022 and zero days during that period in 2021 and 2020. The average is 85° and humidity that doesn't even approach Florida.Well, it will be over 100° for most of that time, but yes (with zero bugs).![]()
