I miss Continental Airlines. They always fixed any issue. I had hoped when the merger happened with United that the same service would carry over. Untitled is ok but they like to hide behind there policies.I won't even fly United when someone else is paying. I think they have terrible service, and if we're talking specifically about LAX, the Delta terminal is brand new with an absolutely amazing Sky Club, whereas United is wallowing in a 40 year old hulk of an outdated dump.
I saw that they were starting to install those panels. Can't wait to see them all on the building.View attachment 759350
May 7th.
I wish the Disneyland Hotel had a real monorail stop like the Florida monorail resorts. I'm dreaming....
I know, that would really elevate it! Though it's not far by any means. We do use it for early entry as we like to knock out either Fantasyland or, more recently, Toontown, early in the morning. It's nice to be dropped off a bit closer to the two locations and not have to use up some energy on the walk through DTD.I wish the Disneyland Hotel had a real monorail stop like the Florida monorail resorts. Yep, you're always on top of the story Sub Leader! Those were the days (not that I'm old enough to remember).
Growing up in Anaheim, taking the Monorail to the hotel mid-day for lunch was really cool. The Monorail Café was right under the station, and there were several other restaurants and bars right there in the Travelport. Side note: you could get on the Monorail at the hotel for a round-trip, and they would put you in a cabin that stayed closed at the Tomorrowland Station. Pretty cool ride through the park.Yep, you're always on top of the story Sub Leader! Those were the days (not that I'm old enough to remember).
Wait, there’s no stop there any more? Or they moved it? I remember riding it way back in the early 60s and being jealous of those people staying there (we mostly camped).Growing up in Anaheim, taking the Monorail to the hotel mid-day for lunch was really cool. It's in Downtown Disney now. They didn't move it, but when they demolished the original garden and bungalow rooms and the original shopping areas and Travelport at the hotel (leaving only the three towers), it created a separation between the station and the hotel.Wait, there’s no stop there any more? United's terminals 7 & 8 at LAX have been renovated down to the studs and are pretty nice now. IMO, the new United Club space is just as nice as the Sky Club space in the Delta Terminals, although the Sky Club still wins on food and beverage. Operationally it's a coin flip between the two. Delta is also slightly better on on-time arrivals, baggage handling, etc., but it's not significant and likely has more to do with differences in their route network than actual operations. I do generally think that Delta is better, and is in fact probably the best-run US airline (perhaps the best run airline overall), but it's not a significant gulf so I'd personally choose between the two on cost and convenience (layovers, etc.)I won't even fly United when someone else is paying. So the monorail station is in the exact same location since its inception, they essentially just moved the hotel, right? I believe a CM told me that years ago, because i was thinking the same thing, i thought i had remembered taking it much closer to the hotel when i was a kid. (I actually thought we rode it all the way into the hotel like WDW, but thats just bad memory or dreaming. lolIt's in Downtown Disney now. The "original" 1956 hotel sat on what is now the Star Wars Trading Post and empty ESPN Zone building. The original Olympic sized swimming pool sat where the Earl of Sandwich was before they tore that down a couple of years ago (basically if you are passing through the security checkpoint at the west end of DTD today, you would be wading in the shallow end of the pool twenty years ago).

They didn’t move the hotel, they just demolished the oldest parts that were built back in the ‘50’s and early ‘60’s and were all 1 and 2 story structures. That created a gap between the Monorail station, and the remaining hotel structures. All three towers were in place when the original buildings were removed. So the monorail station is in the exact same location since its inception, they essentially just moved the hotel, right?
