Nice. Where's the food from?

I didn't want to go too far so I mobile order from Alien Pizza Planet. Unlimited soda was courtesy of the lounge. I definitely found my new favorite place to eat lunch. My guide said to me you know you can stay as long as you want and I told him "I know."

I've been there 3 times so far and there's never a line. There's also no assigned seating either right now. I think only opening day was busy.

I hope you're right but I'm not going to be too optimistic given that people buying in and people paying cash will have a couple months to book before the rest of us will!

Actually, it can be easier to book when a new resort is in active sales. DVD declares a number of villas into the condominium association, but since it takes a while to sell them there are fewer owners trying to book that resort than there are non-owners, so there’s less competition from owners than when the resort is sold out. Cash reservations come from villas that aren’t declared into the condo association yet, so non-owners aren’t competing with them either.

I hope to book VDH for January. If what I want is not available when booking first opens to me in July, I’ll waitlist what I want. As sales continue and more villas are declared into the association, that means availability increases and my WL has a good chance to fill.

I spoke to my guide yesterday and she said initially they will only be offering the fixed week sales for the duo and regular studios only not the one and two bedrooms.

Question - in that video it says "the amenities and facilities adjacent to VDH are not part of the ownership interests" when picturing the monorail pool. Does that mean that it will not be open to those on DVC stays or just that dues don't support that facility?

I think it means that DVC dues do not fund that pool. All guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel will have access to the monorail pool. This is how some of the other pools at DVC/cash combo resorts work, like Wilderness Lodge/Copper Creek/Boulder Ridge. Everyone has access to the main pool.

Thanks! That's been our experience renting points in WDW. I know almost nothing about Disneyland so I didn't know if it'd be different. My kids love waterslides!

Those won’t be part of the condo association, which means they are not part of what you are buying.

However, If owners are given access, then they will pay a share of the costs via dues for a right to use them.

That’s how it is at both Poly and VGF..the pools there are not part of DVC and owned by the hotel. As owners, we are given access but it’s not guaranteed.

At places like BLT and RIV, the pool is a common element and therefore, owners will always have access.

Nice incentive for resale-only owners to go for 150 points. Wonder if that means if incentives will be different for people who own direct points vs those who own resale only.

As a potential buyer, I'm not understanding. We would be buying by the type of accomodation? We aren't buying xxx number of points?

I think they mean that if you want to buy a fixed week, it has to be for duo or studios.

Last year during labor day weekend I stayed at a studio room in DLH for three nights (fri - mon), and the total cost was $1,710.00 + $290.70 (tax). I didn't focus on the tax rate at that time, but it was 17%

I don't like the TAT for dvc stay like everyone, but I tend to buy some, targeting VDH at 11 month, and VGC at 7 month if possible. I'm thinking about 100 points at first, and then probably 50 points add on later.

My resolve is shaken. I loved my April trip to Disneyland so much but I don't want to keep using my June VGC points in the danger zone. Plus, I'm using calculations of stays in a Grand Villa as my basis for how much I would have to pay, but 99% of the time we'll be in a 1BR or 2BR. Our family who stayed with us loved staying on property so much, they begged me to take some of their money for the stay. I said it was on me this time, but I'll just ask the family to help with some of the tax if we ever splurge for the Grand Villa in the coming years.

I'm punching numbers into my spreadsheets as I speak to see if I should do it. Even at 190 to 200 a point for 300 points it's a better value in the long run then buying AKV direct. Additionally, I want that 11 month booking window to have a chance at the 2BR...

If I could only get some cheap VGC points in a DEC UY

Yeah, I don't think there's anyway around the tax if you want to go to Disneyland. It's 17% off site as well. Plus parking at most places too.
