VDH Opening

Conspiracy theory: VGC refurb intentionally left off the D23 refurb schedule announcement to entice current VGC owners to buy add-on contracts at the new shiny tower.

I emailed DVC management regarding the missing refurb about a month ago. A few days later I received a call from Member Services to follow up and get more details. They said they would pass along my concerns. I requested a call or email back from upper management. Crickets since.

How frustrating. I hope more owners contact them and maybe it will light a fire under their butts to get moving on it.

Well, ask the AUL folk how fast management reacts to complaints - cold lazy river and all. ;D

There's certainly an eager bunch awaiting for VDH to open; but that's not going sell the tower out by any means. It's the great unknown. What's clear is that the resale market is tepid at best right now. I do wonder how the direct sales are going in WDW and AUL this past month and that should be guiding some of the pricing and incentives for VDH.

Sharing my experience with reporting things in the DVC wing - on the TV in the room, there is a QR code that can be scanned to provide feedback to hotel mgmt at VGC. On the times I’ve filled that out, with either positive or constructive feedback, i have received a phone call from a supervisor in guest services within an hour of submitting it, to chat more about the feedback I have provided.

I can't wait for them to re-do the beautiful Craftsman rooms and to paint them all white, put laminate gym flooring in, and add barn doors and brushed brass everywhere.
Sadly this probably isn't that far off. "Don't worry about it guys, use whatever crap's left over from VDH! No one will notice the purple!"

Do you really think that's what they will do? I doubt they would go away from the Craftsman style.

Look what they did at Boulder Ridge (yeah, it's new, but modern; definitely not the Great Lodge aesthetic), and the Boardwalk lobby, to say nothing of the new VGF resort rooms. I expect a similar Wayfair-ing of VGC.

No, but it wouldn't surprise me if they either inject more IP or tone down the theming and make it more neutral (whiter walls are a real possibility, see the recent PVB and BRV refurbs, both of which formerly had darker walls). I'd be very disappointed if they do, but it'd also be par for the course.

I am not really familiar with the WDW villas but I just watched a video walkthrough of the new 1-bedroom at Boulder Ridge and maybe I'm in the minority but I thought it looked nice.
I absolutely agree with you. We bought CCV for the contract and ability to stay at WL the week after thanksgiving some years.

After seeing the new refurb at BRV. I think I’d prefer to stay there until CCV gets the Murphy beds, if it’s off season or course.

Well, to paraphrase John Waters, better to have bad taste than no taste.

Not sure the studios and one bedrooms are big enough for the Murphy beds, so wouldn’t wait too long….

And can we get something else besides a white bedspread…..:laundy:
Nope. That white top sheet "bedspread" isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

VGC studios are no smaller than the BRV or BWV studios, so there is room. Murphy beds are an example of a good change.

Now BLT studios are another story. I love BLT, and own there, but I wouldn't stay in a studio unless I was there solo. They're that small. I don't now how parties of 2 or larger do it.

Since we're just presenting subjective statements as facts:

The BRV refurb looks awesome.

BLT studios are small, but certainly not too small for 2 people. DH and I are proof.

VGC's refurb will likely be great and maintain enough Craftsman style while modernizing the rooms.

White bed spreads make the beds look clean without drawing your eye away from the other interior design elements/themed items.

😂😉
