VDH contract...wwyd?

Sorry to ask this in this thread but it was brought up on the first page. If you buy a 200 pt contract and split it into 4 50 pointers or 2 100 points, do you still get all the incentives for 200 points? I know there's more closing costs for each contract but I wondered if you saved with the amount of incentives 200 points gets vs 50. Thanks!
If it’s your first contract they’re going to make you keep one contract at 100 points. It’s policy.

I am noticing that 1 bedrooms are becoming a challenge for the holiday season. I fear this might become a yearly trend since there are so few..... even the accessible rooms are booked up most days!
1 and 2 bedrooms will almost certainly be a challenge at VDH year round long term. There aren’t enough of them.

I’m really surprised that the balance is so bad. Especially compared with VGC where it is 20/20/20.

They’ve built a resort that has fixed the “not enough studios” problem for Anaheim as a whole but I think it is going to be hard for owners at VDH to get larger room sizes especially given the total number of points compared with the small number of larger rooms.

Oh yes, of course I’m aware of this part. I’m so sorry, I completely misunderstood the initial post. I thought you meant that the hotel itself had been put up for sale, and just now realized that you meant that the points had come online for sale 😵‍💫

Both have great vibes but are different. Disneyland Hotel/VDH wins on many fronts. I'll agree with you that my happiness level is just slightly more when I pull into the Porte Cochere at GC vs DLH but only by a little. DLH is WAY more relaxed even during peak times vs the GC which at times can feel way too insane. GC also get's a slight demerit based on inconsistent rule enforcement and snobbery by some of the CMs.
We bought DLH last year direct but really wanted grand cal. We were an east coast family that moved out west and I wanted west coast points.

I prefer Disneyland hotel for the reasons you stated. Grand cal can get crazy busy and very loud, the lobby (although beautiful) isn’t as impressive as Wilderness lodge, and it is harder to book a room there.

We have been super happy at DLH and have successfully waitlisted at VGC to change it up. I still have my eye out for some resale VGC points if they ever drop low enough in price.

Mmmm following along… thinking on buying VDH… but still on the fence… probably is more frustration talking..

I own VGC direct (bought it last year, fantastic guide that kept searching for one)… but booking a studio at 11m, 8 o’clock is a nightmare… I have two waitlists, different dates because I just couldn’t grabbed it…

Then I would need to get more pts to book 1Br (space that I don't need); or purchase VDH or keep going to offsite hotels (which is usually cheaper but not Disney, that is also an emotional component to factor right? LOL)

Decisions…

What time of year is a nightmare at 8am 11pm this out?

Any popular times will be a problem, especially over the holidays. So few rooms a VGC that it can be tough to book. May have to walk a reservation which people don't like.

Looks like there are only 2 studio rooms not already booked for tomorrows window. Seems like a lot of people are booking multi day trips at this time window and it's competitive....

Had the same issue with the 11month opening at CCV this morning. The only thing left within a few minutes of opening was the Cabins. Had to waitlist.

So.. maybe just bad luck,VGC studio availability at 11ms should be easy?
For most dates it's something I'd recommend booking right at 8am at 11 months but it's not something that should be impossible. The 1st weekend in Dec with the CP it's popular along with some holidays and other schedule event dates Also recommend checking the next day as walking does occur so something that wasn't there might reopen as the walkers go past the date.
