We have a combo unit. I have a lot of old tapes, and some things are not out yet on DVD. (For Christmas, from eBay, my wife got a whole selection of 1950s Mickey Mouse club videos. We only know of two DVDs of the 50s version, and already have them both.) For recording, we use our TiVo.

We still have two players, one in the daycare room to play kid videos we have that will never be released on DVD. The other is in the main entertainment center to use when we want to record more than the DVR can handle.

We still have two. We use them occasionally.

Have several (here and at the lake) - use them - and love them because VHS tapes are soooooooooo cheap now.. ;)

Nope. We got rid of it. Which comes to a problem when we want to watch videos.

We have a VCR, and still use it. I'm so sick of scratched and ruined DVD's, I sort of miss tapes. My kids can step on it, it could roll around in the bottom of their toy box, and you pop it in and works like the day you bought it!

Still have a VCR but do not really use it anymore. Will hang on to it as I still have alot of tapes.

it's funny you mention it. I'm going through the old movies and pulled the VCR out so I could watch them. I just love these old movies but I really should transfer them or see if they are on DVD.

I just got rid of my VCR for a DVD recorder with a hard drive. I love that I can set the timer to record a show, come back in the middle of the show and start watching from the beginning. I also don't ever have to worry about having a tape ready. Sometimes I have tapes that I'm in the middle of watching and if I'm in a rush I don't have time to FF them to a point where I can record.

I still have one and use it all the tiem to record programs from tv (While I am a tech head) I refuse to pay for a DVR. I am not payign a monthly 12.99 fee for something a VCR can do! And No I absolutley don't care about rewinding or pauseing live tv.

I also Like to record programs and save them for transer onto dvd.

As for watching movies My DVD player with progressive scan and surround sound is all I'll watch!

There are fees for DVR?

I believe Tivo has a subscription fee and I pay more every month to have an DVR HD box. A simple HD box without DVR would be less per month.

Yep, still have and use one! I don't have DVR or TiVo or anything, so if I want to tape a show, I've gotta do it the old fashioned way! ;)

Plus, I perform with a dance group, and the videos of the shows we perform in are usually way cheaper than the dvds, so my collection of those is slowly growing.

I look forward to finally being able to transfer all of my old VHS to DVD someday- it would be so much more organized, and take up way less space! I can't even imagine how many old episodes of Dr Quinn and Hey Dude I have on tape.

Its still there, but I seldom use it, Candykisses does though...

We still have one and use it all the time. Its the only way we have of recording TV programs. :happytv:
