Well I have to wait until April for VB.

Great pictures and report - and I'm glad to know that KSC was a bust - it was on our "do someday" list and I think I'd rather stay at Vero!!

Sigh. Makes me wish it was May and not August.......

I have a solo trip that I'm going to be taking in the next 6 weeks and now I just might make it for VB! It looks amazing and I think it would be a great place to relax by myself!!

At least your "ugly" moments were non-VB related. I'm definitely going to book some VB time during our trip next August! I seems like August is a good time to stay. One question, the OVIR....is that similar to a standard hotel room? Does it only accomodate 4 people? I'd love to have a view of the ocean but with 5 of us it might be out of the question.

Yes, the OVIR rooms have 2 queen beds, a mini kitchen, tv. All of the villa rooms ( 1bdrms, 2bdrms) all now have a new flat screen tv in them!

It's nice to see that the beach is "bigger" than when we were there in October.
If I go back, it will definitely be in the summer.

I have to second your opinion of Squid Lips! Biker Bar sums it up perfectly.

So, the OVIR are VB's "studios" then they have 1BR & 2BRs and Beach Cottages are like GVs? Do the 1BR & 2BRs have the chance of having a view of the ocean? What is a good "view" to request if I don't want to look at the parking lot - pool view?

If you are going to request a 2 bedroom, ask for a 2 bedroom LOCKOFF. Those face the ocean side of the buildings. DO NOT request ground floor, 3 rd floor preferibly. Buildings 12 and 15, with some units in 14 are the buildings to ask for. I'm sure others will chime in with their experiences.

Thanks! It's tough to know what to ask/look for when we've yet to stay there. Actually maybe that's not such a bad thing - no expectations! Thankfully, I can ask the experts on the DIS

The pictures are great. I arrive next Saturday for a four night solo visit. It will be my first trip to VB. Based on your review and pics of Squd Lips, I am rethinking my dinner plan for one evening. I grew up on the Eastern Shore near Salisbury and now live in No. Virginia. Like you, I am accustomed to great seafood.

Anyone have a suggestion for someplace a little more upscale than Squid Lips? I am not looking for fine dining, just not a biker bar.

Your pictures are absolutely fabulous!! DH and I recently drove from Orlando to Miami via the coast so that we could see the VB resort. It was great and we can see why people must love it!! Can't wait to stay there and your pics made it more exciting!!

DH and I have tried to get into VB for the last couple of YEARS! It just never worked out. We do have ressies for nov though. Your pictures make me wish I was leaving tomorrow.
I've read mixed reviews of Squid Lips. Where did you like eating? We love seafood! Actually-----we love FOOD!
