Vanillia in Cozumel

Anyone have any experience with it? Is it real extract or just the fake stuff?

it does not taste like extract...it has a weidr taste to it...sort of like a vanilla egg cream type taste.

We have bought vanilla in Mexico many times and it is good. Although, when you bake with it, you don't need to use as much, because it is the real stuff. I really like it, and it lasts forever.

DITTO DITTO......I love it. I think there is nothing like it!!!!!It is Much less expensive and it works great for me in all my baking. Oh and pancakes use it YUM YUM!!!!!!!

Here's the link to a thread from a few days ago. The "cheap" stuff from Mexico probably isn't vanilla. I live within a few hours of the border and have learned not to buy things like this down there because you just don't know what you'll get. If you want to take a chance, that's up to you but I wouldn't personally.

We bought ours at the grocery store in Cozumel...just a couple blocks up from the forum chops...easy walk.

It is real, much stronger than the stuff you get here in the store..you definately don't need as much.

Have been to Cozumel twice and have yet to purchase vanilla. Excursions were fund but far too long. I guess dh will have to take me back
