Vanessa Ann Hudgens Fired from Disney!

Hmm.
To the poster who said she's 18 and it's her life and her decisions. That's true..BUT when you represent a company like Disney, you have to act responsibly and uphold the wholseome image. She should hace some consequences for this..she has potentially lost Disney and the High School Musical franchise millions upon millions of dollars. HSM2 just came out and got relatively good reviews..Disney doesn't want peopel talking about this. This potentially affects the third one and several posters here have expressed discontent with the idea of her in HSM3 or not in HSM3. People are upset for many reasons. Hoepfully she will learn and grow and have a nice career, but all people should face the consequences of their actions. She will never again have the same image in the public eye.
On a side note, I dislike the whole "they're at that age where stuff happens" attitude anyway. It doesn't apply AS much here, but this is because there are a heck of a lot of people who worship celebrities, reading everythign about them and supporting them. Some one like Lidsay Lohan for example, is known for liquor, cocaine, crashing cars, and rehab more than her acting now. She is extremely lucky that none of her antics hurt anyone. Imagine if one of those car crashes involved inadvertantly killing a family with small children..I am sure that there would still be people who go "it's okay! she's just experimenting! she's at that age! it's no biggie! she'll grow up and be a great person!"

First of all, I get what you're saying.
But obviously by saying 'she's at that age' I was in no way referring to lindsay lohan/celebs doing drugs. I was referring to her expiriencing sexuality. I don't condone drugs/crazy partying/drinking and driving, and by saying 'she's at that age' I in no way implied that I did. I was talking about sexuality, not drugs & partying. I personally, think it's okay for people to photograph themselves naked. Whether they work for Disney or not. Yeah she is supposed to uphold the Disney image, and in public, she does. These were meant to be private. In her real, private life, she doesn't have to uphold anyone's standards.
It was an accident that they got out, I'm sure she in no way meant for them to come out. And sure, she should have some consequences for that mistake, and I'm sure she has learned a very valuable lesson.

I totally understand that she may have lost viewers/fans/money from Disney for this. I understand that people perceive this as bad and want nothing to do with her anymore, I understand that people are upset.

I just think she must be really scared and embarassed, so I empathize.
I've never been a fan of hers, but I have to say I support her, and I'm on her side.

I feel bad for V. I'm 17 and can really relate to making a stupid mistake or two. If the pictures were never meant to get out, then I don't think it should be anyone's buisness. If Disney fires her, the lets hope there was something in her contract (about pictures like these ones getting out, or even taking them in general, contracts are scarily specific) and their not just firing her for a personal mistake.

I think little girls do look up to her, but mostly look up to her character Gabriella. How much do we really know about any of the Disney's stars personal lives? Not much, we really have no idea. I don't think she should be fired. She is an actress and she can still pull the role of Gabriella off.

Kids look up to Gabriella but not really her.

I mean, we all remember the Lizzie McGuire time period. Where nobody called Hilary Duff by her real name, but by her character.

I don't really understand that statement. She took some naked photographs, they were private, she didn't send them to any magazines...how does that show she didn't love her job?

I mean there is a chance I will get hit by a car walking across the street, but I still walk. There is a chance it will rain when I am swimming, I still swim. There is a chance my dog will run away when I walk him, but I still take him out. You can't live your life wondering about the "what ifs." (And yes I know these examples are less serious, but they were all I could think of at this time)

She had everything going for her, HSM made her a giant star, she met Zac there, her singing career took off with Radio Disney, and she has probably made so much money she wont have to worry about when her next job offer will come. She must love her job.

In this situation I think embearassment (sp?) is enough of a consequence for V. Like I said before, unless something in her contract states that she can't take personal naked pictures, then I don't think she should be fired.

You dont know that. I mean you love your parents, but that doesnt mean you do everything they tell you to and you disobey them sometimes and do what your not supposed to.

Let me give you all a scenario, I'm using random names because its not a true story.

Jan is not famous, but she is a nice person, straight A student, helps out with lots of organizations and she baby-sits kids in her neighborhood. Little Betty is 8 years old and wants to be just like Jan. She "looks up to her". Jan's boyfriend is a jerk and convinces her to take a nude photo. He then passes this on to his friends who are also jerks.

Should Little Betty not look up to Jan because of one stupid thing. No, it doesn't make sense that one thing should out weigh all the other good things. But because V is famous everything she does is magnified. Vanessa did not kill anyone! She did one thing and suddenly people hate someone they don't know. It doesnt make sense or seem fair to me at all.

But what we are saying is that, Vanessa probably wasnt thinking about her job or being an employee of Disney when she took that photo.
She probably wasn't thinking 'Oh, I hope Disney doesn't find out about this, I hope my little 7 year old fans won't think any less of me'

The thing is she WASN'T thinking, or at least, she was probably just thinking 'I hope (whoever she sent the photos to) likes this'

ok i'm sick of this not the threads but the news i wake up and mi mom says Disney changed their mind 8 years old have no idea about a celeb's personal life some don't even know her real name and call her Gabrielle my sister and her friends are mad that she was fired but don't know why who's going to tell an 8 year that some they like have nude photo everywhere and the Internet not a lot of parents monitor her there kids and even so they would be on an innocent site and somthing pops up what happens when its her that pops up i think she is herself and taking a turn for the worse if Zack did break up with her good riddance
