VanCortland Park/ Bronx NY - question or two

I have to go to my son's cross country race tomorrow at VanCortland Park in the Bronx. Is it hard to find? Where might be the nearest place to it to get lunch after the race, reasonable if we are taking a bunch of boys, or mid-priced if dh and I end up going without the boys.

If you are close to the boarder of Yonkers on Broadway - there is an Irish Pub with pretty good food. It's exactly on the boarder of Yonkers and The Bronx. Accross from the park. Thats if you are on the Broadway side. Thats all I can think of - I havn't been in that area for some tim,e now.

I'm pretty sure the xc track is on the broadway side. So all I have to do is find Broadway. It will be across from the park on Broadway? I don't mind driving. Last year when we left the park we figured we would get breakfast/lunch on the way out. But it was still fairly quick after we left the park that we were on interstates so the only place we could stop to eat was at the xpwy rest stop, yuck.

accross the street. It depends on where on Broadway you are. It's right on the Bronx Side of the Yonkers / Bronx boarder.

if you head north on Broadway - You can SEE Yonkers LOL. You will see an old car dealership on the right. ( My Godfather used to own it). The Pub / Rest is right accross the street.

Went to the Irish Pub across from the course. This was crowded with runners, and those old enough getting their Guinness fix. It was a beautiful day for a race and a nice course. My son did well, but not as well as he wanted. Very fast race with some awesome kids. A girl from our team qualified for Nationals in Cali.
