So I know when Disney considers Value season but the rack room rate doesnt seem to match! Example a moderate rm should be 149 during the week during value season correct? Then why do I keep coming up with 159 for a standard rm during the week? Does anyone know when you actually get 149 a night for a standard room at a moderate? TIA! :goodvibes

What resort are you trying and what specific days of the week? I know CSR is slightly higher (correct anyone?) and fridays are a bit more expensive than thursdays:confused3:confused3

I know when i was pricing rooms before I found the discounts and considered a saturday check in....it was $149 instead of $129. Friday and Saturday check ins are about 10-20 dollars more at the values anyway. Now my room is only $90.30 a night.

I am looking at feb but Im kinda pricing all value seasons out. My 30th bday is next year and I would love to go right on my birthday BUT april is crazy busy and more than I wold like to spend so Im just trying to price out the different months but I have yet to find the 149 they claim on the website. So I wasnt sure if anyone else has been able to find it. I was looking at POR mainly the 2nd week of feb wed to wed. But I ws also looking at first week of march and first week of may also wed to wed.

Check the following rate schedules, as far as I noticed Feb is mainly peak season but if you find your desired resort and then you can see when the value seasons are and go check those dates for availablilty on the Disney site

Good Luck

I'm trying to figure out the same thing using a 30% PIN we received. POR 2/3-2/8 Standard room is billed as follows and I can't figure out why if a weekday is $154 and weekend is $164, and we arrive on a Thursday.

Thursday Hotel
02/03/2011 Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside 1,2
Standard View 5 Night(s)
Quantity 1
Rate per room/Per night (plus tax) 2,3 $106.60
Rate per room/Per night (plus tax) 5,4 $154.00
Rate per room/Per night (plus tax) 1 $100.10
Room Only PIN
TOTAL CASH FOR THIS STAY: $698.98

I figured it this way...
3 nights 154.00
2 nights 164.00 = 790.00
less 30% = 553
plus tax = 622.13 Total

I called this morning to find out why but "the computers are down". :sad2:

So it looks like 149 doesnt really happen. But thats a good chart thanks! it really breaks its down by resort and time. SuzyQue post when you find out! id realy like to know the outcome! Thanks everyone!!

Just my thoughts --
First you have to consider you are getting the nightly room rates from a chart on an unofficial site.
So you don't really know what the rack room rates are, unless you locate them on the Disney website, or even for sure if the weekend includes Thursday. (Which would only make $10 difference.)
Since you have three different rates in the "billed" portion tells me there are three different rates during that time.
Maybe one set of dates are blocked from the discount. Almost looks that way with the $154.
:confused3

I agree with your reasoning, but I can't understand why they wouldn't TELL me they couldn't book all 5 nights under my code. I originally wanted to come in the day before with a standard room and they said no standards were available for that code, so I said what about coming in the next night and they said yes that would work. Still trying to get an answer.

Disney reserves only a certain number of rooms at each resort of each category for each promotion, and then only if they still need to book more of those types of rooms. It's quite possible that there were no more standard rooms available on the first night you wanted (or that enough standard rooms were already booked so that they never became available under that discount). And it is quite possible that there were standard rooms available under that discount for the second set of dates.

What they cannot do is book one reservation with more than one discount/rack rate. So for example, they cannot book one reservation with one night using rack rate and the rest of the stay using the code. They have to book them as 2 separate stays (one at rack rate and one with code) and you would have to pay a separate deposit on each of those stays.

Oh, and BTW, Thursday is not included as a weekend for rate purposes. The weekend nights are Friday and Saturday.

Just wanted to say that the easywdw site took the room chart prices from the wdw site and they are the same, you can check the disney site but you will need to pull up each resort individually, I find the easywdw site more convient to use

Do you happen to have 3 Adults on the ressie that would account for the extra $15 per nite difference ?

Did you call and find out anything?

Near as I could figure Thur 2/3 154(-35%)=100.10
Fri 2/4 and Sat 2/5 164(-35%)=106.60x2
and Mon 2/6 and Tues 2/7 must be blocked from the discount 154x2 rack rate

Not yet, I hate having to go through all the automated questions each time I call. When the computers were down I even asked if there was any way of getting to a "human" quicker and they said no. I'll try again tomorrow. Your figuring does make sense, but the PIN was for 30% and nothing was said to me about not honoring the discount for our full stay. Stay tuned.;)

It is baffling to say the least, I wish they would break everything down on the confirmations, in all honesty I do not know how they get away with not breaking it down, seems they should have to :confused3

I read on hear just days ago someone said if you call and reply "agent" to the first two questions you will be send to a CM.....I am thinking of trying that if I call to see about this infamous 40% off pin everyone keep saying they are getting when they call. I hate all the questions too.

In any case good luck

To bypass the automation, just keep pushing 0 on your phone. Eventually, the system will send you to an agent.

Thanks, too bad I didn't read this before I called.

Well their reply was that it looks like it wasn't available for my last 2 nights (ya think?) and the reason they didn't tell me that is because I didn't ask them to break it down into daily rates when I made the reservation. I told him had I known, I may have asked for a different kind of room or resort and he said the PIN I had didn't "work" for those dates (for stay most nights 1/2-4/16) anywhere. I asked him why the Monday & Tuesday were blacked out and he said PINs are used to generate business and apparently they don't need the business those two nights (?). I told him I had never had this problem before and he said the system has changed, before if you wanted to book with a PIN, if ALL of your nights weren't covered under the PIN, the system would mark it "unavailable" to you, even if 6 out of 7 nights were covered. Now, if ANY of your nights fall under the PIN, they see it as "available" and go ahead and book it, even though all of the nights might not be covered.

So while I am thankful for the PIN and the discounted nights I got, I'm still paying "rack rate" for two nights, something we people here on the DIS boards try to avoid :) Think I'll post something on the main board just to give people a heads up.
