Is it worth the extra 10.00? why is it a preferred location? Thanks for all the input

We've only paid it when hubby wanted to stay in a particular building---sorceror Mickey.

I did like being close to everything though--just a hop to the pool instead of a skip and a jump.

I'd probably do it again--but when we stay value--we usually do so for the cost...and don't want to pay the extra $10 per day + tax.

We were at Pop Century last month. Our 50's bldg #3, was MUCH closer to the food court, and bus stops, than the further preferred bldg, which is the 60's at Pop century.
There are 70's bldgs, that are closer too.

I think I would want the preferred sections at All-stars. I've never been, but from what I've read, there bldgs, are a bit more spread out, than at Pop.

When we stayed at Music, we stayed in Jazz bldg. It was next to Calypso which is the preferred bldg there. I loved Jazz...very close to everything and wasn't quite as crowded/noisy..especially on the back side away from the pool area.

We stayed in the preferred section at ASmo las t summer and I don<t think it was worth it.

First of all we were never at the resorts and aalways in the parks so we didn't get to enjoy the proximity to the food court and bus stop. I say if you plan on going to the parks alot, maybe it isn't worth it.

However, if you have little ones and come back in the PM to enjoy foodcourt and pools, it could be useful. I could of had an extra night at ASmo for the days that I payed 10.00 extra.

We are staying at ASMu this July and will not be taking a preferred location....I might just change my mind on the subject after our vacation.

For me - NO! The regular rooms weren't that far off and it wasn't worth the extra 10/night for me anyway. Maybe we got lucky to get pretty close rooms but the farther away ones didn't seem that bad at all.

I wouldn't pay an extra $10 a night for a preferred location. The value resorts really aren't all that big. Most people do a ton of walking all day at the parks, so I really don't see the big deal of walking a little further to your room.

My friend and I stayed in the 80's building at POP. It was the farthest building out, but we had no problem dealing with the walk. We saw a lot of the resort and the best part was that our room overlooked the lake! I think it depends on if you can afford the extra money (yes, I know it's only $10, but my friend and didn't want to pay any more money) and whether or not you have kids, etc. We did great without preferred! :)
