I will be traveling with 4 adults and my 17 year old son. Are the value resorts too kid like for us? Or should we spend the extra money and go to the next step up ?

If you are planning on going very soon (Before xmas) then I personally would upgrade to the Moderates. Of the value resorts I would choose POP because IMHO it is less "kid like". For a moderate you cannot go too wrong with CBR. I loved the nightly fireworks from Epcot........

You probably already know this - but you will need 2 rooms. You can't fit 5 people in one room at a Value Resort.

and the only moderate that can fit 5 is the PO-R in the Alligator Bayou section. Each adult over 2 will also be a $15 fee, so for the extra $30 if you were staying in one room, I would just stay at the value with 2 rooms with the connecting door. I wouldn't consider them too childish... my husband enjoys staying at the AS-Sports (in the BaseBall section).

Thank you. We are planning two rooms. I had just seen a commersal on Tv about the resorts and in the back ground there were big pictures of the disney caractors on the walls. I don't think my 17 year old son would enjoy having that in his room.

I really do like this board. I have learned alot.

Don't worry, the room on the commercial doesnt actually exist. :( All star sports, music, or POP would be good choices. All star movies doesn't sound like it would be the right choice for you though, as it is pretty heavy on the characters outside.

If your son likes sports at all, what ever one is his favorite (like I said, my husband likes the baseball section), you can request that section in the AS-Sports. Same goes for the Music, what is his favorite music? Rock, country??? I like Rock, my daughter likes some Country...when we stayed at the Music, we got a room way in the back in the Country section..it was so nice and quiet. There were benches to sit on outside, far enough from the pools to where you didn't hear loud noise... it was a totally different atmosphere than up by the food court. I have to agree with previous poster, I don' t think the Movies would be for him uless he like Herbi the Love Bug or maybe the Mighty Ducks... the rest is more "kiddish". My younger daughter (nearly 12) likes the Dalmation section, so when we go, that is where we have stayed (2 times). Next time we go there, we will try for the Toy Story section...my 16 yr old daughter wants that one... There are no big "overly Disney" pictures in the rooms. The only big things are the icons on the outside of the bldgs. If you do some searching, I am sure you can find pic's of the rooms on the web. If I think of it tomorrow, I will pull out mine & see if I have any to send...don't know how to post them onto these boards but I can email them to you if you would like.

OMG... I feel like the "official spokesman" for the All Stars :hyper:

Hello "A Mickey Fan". I was wondering if you would be able to help me. I see you have stayed at the All-Stars Movie Resort on several occassions. I have reservations for the same resort on Dec 5th - 10th 2004 and would like to know if you could provide me with some information. Would you recommend hiring a fridge?
Is it easy to go out and into the outer disney area via public transport? Have you suggestions on where to eat? How far away are the different parks from this resort?
I would be very interested in seeing the pics you have if you have managed to find them.
Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
I will be travelling over from Aus and it is hard to fatham the sheer size of WDW when you come from a small country town.
My email address is

if you or anyone else would like help.
Thank you!
