My husband finally gave me the green light to start planning our trip. Little does he know I started "planning" months ago. :rotfl2: We are a family of 4. However, my daughter will be 17 when we go and my son will be 13. She is already taller than me and he will, most likely, be by the time we go. My plan is to book two (hopefully connecting) rooms. Us in one, our kids in the other. If they are not connecting, it won't be a huge deal seeing how they are both older. But hoping for connecting. Anyway...I am torn between booking at a Pop or CBR. The difference between the two for the week is $658.28. Yes it seems like quite a bit, but I am looking at comfort. Our kids can sleep anywhere and not care. We can not. Our last visit we stayed at FW Cabins and the bed was so hard. It was terrible. Not as an enjoyable vacation as it could have been if my husband and I were more rested. I am afraid that since the beds at FW are full size and the beds at Pop are full size they would be similar in comfort. The beds at CBR are queen (since the refurb) and should be more comfortable. We will be spending more time in our rooms this visit. We've done the "commando" thing and this next time we are going to do a more relaxing vacation. So...would you spend the extra $650 to be more comfortable or would you pay less just to have a less expensive vacation? It's Disney, nothing is less expensive.

Me personally, comfort is everything. You sleep better, feel better, and have more energy throughout the day. If I were in your shoes (and could afford it without breaking the bank) then I would pay the extra.

If money is not a concern, I would go with a moderate resort. But please keep in mind if you don't get connecting rooms you and your hubby will each have to sleep in a separate room. Disney insists each room have an adult age 18 or over in it.

Have you considered maybe one deluxe room? Resorts like the Poly or Beach Club have queen beds plus one day bed.

I have stayed at every moderate and most of the value resorts and I found the beds at the values to be quite uncomfortable. One or two nights I could manage but I couldn't do a week. I liked the resorts, themselves, just not the rooms. I'm not sure if moderates and deluxes have better pillows or not but I even found the pillows at the values to be uncomfortable.

We bring our own pillows so that is not a concern. Thank you for that review on the beds at value resorts. This is starting to make my decision much easier.

I would spend the extra money if you do want the sleep and a relaxing vacation.

However have you thought of a split stay? Maybe three nights at Pop and four at CBR. It would save "some" money, you get to experience both resorts, and at end get to relax more. I never thought I would like split stats until I tried it and now it is the only way I go.

But really, if you can't sleep well in the smaller harder beds do the moderate for the entire stay.

How comfortable is the day bed? I had looked at AK and WL bunkbed rooms when pricing Deluxe. I looked up BC and it is a $117.02 cheaper than 2 Moderate rooms. Now I have to factor in the location of BC (:cheer2::cheer2:), Stormalong Bay (:banana:) and the fact that we would be staying in a Deluxe for the first time ever (not to mention my dream resort) against having 2 complete bathrooms and definite separation space.

Hmmmm.......

Nope. No way could I get my husband to switch resorts. Once he's in...he's in. Besides I wouldn't want to have to pack everything back up and switch. Maybe if I was there for two weeks, or if I was going Deluxe to Deluxe (lol)

Can i change my vote..Beach Club all the way. question is can you be ok with one bathroom?

LOL. I'm not sure. It's not so much the bathroom as it is the extra space. And my daughter not wanting to hear my husband snore at night. I so want to stay at BC. I don't know if I can entice her with SAB. I will try. LOLOLOLOL

Ear plugs?

I just got back from a trip to Art of Animation (a value) and found the beds incredibly comfortable. If this translates to the other values, I'd say you'd have no problem. I couldn't wait to lay down in my bed each night!

If you want to save some money and curious about the differences, do most of your trip at a value and switch the last couple nights to a moderate. Then you'll be more in the know for if the cost difference is worth it the next trip without spending what sounds like an uncomfortable amount of money for the entire time this trip.

I would say moderate, we have stayed at all the Values and POR,POFQ, and this trip we will be at CBR. I think the extra money is well worth the added comfort. :)

Since you have stayed at all the values, how would you rate their beds?

We were comfy at POR, but my kids fight and bicker when worn out. I would rather pay for the deluxe and not have them in a separate room, unless I could guarantee connecting rooms. Have you considered checking with a travel agency? Some have conference rates that are much better than rack.

Honestly, we can all give you advice, but we don't know all the circumstances involved. If you are planning a $5,000-$10,000 vacation to Disney for a week, $600+ for comfort is really not as big of a deal. Now, if you are going for a weekend, that is a big price difference. So really, you do what is best for you, your family, your vacation and your budget, and I'm sure you will have made the right choice.

Based on how you phrased the poll, looks like you're leaning towards booking CBR anyway. When DH & I are doing a nicer trip, and we can get a discount, we book a moderate. However, we got a really great deal for a short visit over Labor Day Weekend at Pop Century ($88 a night, yes please!) and though we hope for a king, we will settle for doubles. Whatever you choose, wishing you a great trip to WDW!:smickey:

Our kids can sleep anywhere and not care. We can not.

I so agree with this. There is nothing worse than staying at a resort, and having an uncomfortable bed. Nothing worse. Spend the money for the comfort if you can, and even if you can't. :)

I want comfort. Not going to lie. Lol. We are also going to be spending more time in the rooms and we need space for the kids to do homework. Yes, we are "those" parents who take our kids out of school. They can do quite a bit of it while we are on vacation so we need a place for them to do it
