Ok so I am planning a trip with some BUDGET important friends

We(They) only want to get 1 room at one of the value resorts because of value reasons. The value resorts have cots so it won't be against fire hazards. I am VERY against all of this but if this is the only way I can get them to Disney then I am going to have to suck it up. Ok so my REAL question is how would I get everyone there using Magical Express.

The value resorts don't have cots.

Value resort rooms cannot be reserved (or occupied by) parties of more than four Guests ages three to infinity.

Additional adults beyond the first two in the room cost $10 per night per person, plus tax.

Any Guest not on the reservation CANNOT use Magical Express. Period.

You could do the All Star Music Family Suite or 2 connecting rooms at a value would be a few dollars cheaper than a Family suite at all star music! Maybe you should look into staying offsite at a villa some are very nice and very cheap1 Or the comfort Inn in LBV which is only apprx 5min from Down Town Disney has Family suites which are 89 per night or reg room which are about $59 per night! If you have triple A or something you could get it cheaper! when we first started going to Disney we stayed at the comfort inn and graduted to Disney Property! Also the Radisson which is also on Palm Parkway in Lake buena Vista is very nice for about $89 per night but if your looking for a real value that is clean the comfort inn and they have free transportation to disney hotles and Universal and sea world! They also have their own restaurant and offer kids eat free under 9 I think! witha paying adult! It's very budget minded and for a place to pop your head to get some Zzz's it's perfect! If you have any questions you can also PM me.

the family suite is not quite what most people think it is, there is a queen size bed in one room a pull out couch and a chair that turns into a single sleeper in the other room.

This is better suited for two adults and three kids. not four adults and one kid.

I agree. I'm not judging, just reporting.

No cots in the Values. Not possible to board DME without a voucher. Not covered by voucher if not named on reservation. Only 4 people can be named on a Value reservation.

Your choices:
  • pay for alternate transportation for one or more of you
  • move up to POR, a Moderate that can sleep 5
  • draw straws to see which one of you doesn't go to Walt Disney World

Just an FYI:

The Family Suites

-Sleep up to 6 (plus one child under age 3 in a Pak-n-Play crib)
1-6 adults can sleep in the Suites for the same set price.
Not extra fee for more than2 adults in the fFamily Suites!

-They have a Queen bed in the master bedroom area , & a full-size (double bed size) pullout sofa, convertible ottoman & chair sleepers . (4 separate sleepers) the ottoman and chair each fold out into standard twin size sleepers.

Here are photos of how the fold outs fold out:
Just a one handed light pull on pull the strap and they roll out very easily.

I agree with everyone else. There are 5 in my family; please believe I did my homework last summer before booking :)

Options:
- a Family Suite. (TWO bathrooms and you're guaranteed to be near each other. Plus there's that kitchenette area. Downside: those convertible beds. My days of roughing it when I'm sleeping are long over.

- 2 rooms at a Value. There's no guarantee that they'll be adjoining, but you can request and hope for the best.

- A trundle room at POR. Actually I think this is the cheapest, but one of the people has to be under 5' tall to fit into the trundle.

- A cabin at Fort Wilderness. This one didn't appeal to me, so I don't know much about it.

- Renting points from DVC. Again, it didn't appeal to me, so I don't know much about it.

- A room at a Deluxe. The Contemporary is one of the cheapest that will fit 5. With the AAA discount, you could probably pay about $60 per person per night and be on the monorail in a Deluxe resort.

Obviously, the Deluxe gets my vote, followed by the Family Suite.

Wait. Seriously - you forgot tent camping. It's what, about $35-$45 per night for the campsite, plus the cost of buying/renting/borrowing whatever equipment you need.

OP - this is my opinion only, and should not be considered advice or any type of suggestion but... I would determine the cost of the trip using the number of rooms required by Disney for this party size, then present them with the price per person and let them choose to come or not. As much as I might want these people to enjoy Disney World with me, I could not in good conscience plan a trip that includes cheating/beating the system.

POR can fit all 5 of you & it would be less than 2 rooms at a value & less than the family suites. For the extra money though, you do not get much more room at all. :confused3 You would have two beds plus a trundle for the fifith person.

You don't say when you're going, so this is Value season pricing for standard rooms:

Tax is 12.5% - 13%
Value resort $82 per night plus tax
One room with three adults = $92 + one room with two adults + $82 total per night = $174
All Star Music Family Suite = $184 per night plus tax, NO additional charge for up to six adults, total
Moderate resort $149 per night plus tax
One room at POR with five adults = $194 per night plus tax

Value = $39.32 per person per night
Family Suite = $41.58 per person per night
Moderate = $43.84 per person per night

Just an FYI:

Disney charges extra for more than 2 adults in a room.
Each extra adult is charged $10 extra a night for a value room, $15 extra night for a Mod and $25 extra a night for a deluxe.

POR would cost $45 extra a night.

For that price they could rent 2 value rooms and have a lot more space.

POR durimg value season $149 +$45= $194
2 rooms at a value during value season is $82 each= 164 + $10 for extra person = $174

A Family Suite during value season is $184 ( 1-6 adults no extra charge) plus you get a fridge inclued ( not to mention kitchette with coffeepot and microwave).

To rent a fridge at a vale is an extra $10 a night so 2 rooms with 1 fridge would cost the same .

Wow! I didn't realize that. In that case 2 value rooms would be much better.:thumbsup2

Remember: as far as I know, the ONLY moderate that will sleep 5 is POR with the trundle bed. If you want full sized beds, the values are probably a better bet.

Note: my numbers in post # 12, above, include all applicable taxes AND additional adult charges.

Wow you must be really good friends to want to all sleep in one small room. I agree with everyone else, either camp [there are places that rent tents, etc. if you're flying in] or 2 rooms at POP would be my vote.

Plus you can get AAA discount to save even more money.

OR save up money and go next year when people can better afford it.

Good luck.
