Val's Journal (comments welcome)

Good morning, Val!

I think that several of us have been having a hard time sticking with our plans lately. I know it's been quite a test for me the past week or so. I'm starting fresh again this morning, too. Hopefully we'll both get completely back on track this week. ::yes::

Thanks for the info on the Pilates DVD. I haven't seen that one around here anywhere so I ordered it off amazon.com this morning. I've got to do something about this fabulous midsection of mine, and pilates is the way I want to go with that.

I'm sorry that you were up a pound this week, but with the exercise and good food choices you're going to make this week that pound will disappear again in no time.

Hope that you have a good day!

~Angela :wave2:

Hi Val,

There is a reasin that Tom is referred to as DZONE around here. Try to focus on the positive things you have been doing. You are taking vitamins, drinking your water, and exercising. It is a new week. You can refocus and get back op with your eating. I have faith in you.

Val, hang in there! Oh how pointless the struggle can seem when that pesky scale is tormenting us - up one pound, down one pound, up 2, down 1, down 2, up 2, up 1......it's enough to drive even the sanest of us crazy!

The point is - and you KNOW this Val! - it's not about the number on the scale. It's about giving your body healthy food and exercise. The weight will take care of itself. Actually, it's good that I'm posting this to your journal - I needed to hear it myself as I watch my scale move up and down the same way. :p

I hope your ab muscle is all healed. If you do your Pilates, I'd avoid the Teaser for a few workouts! That's a tough exercise!!

Have a wonderful Monday! :sunny:

Okay Val! You are back with a vengenance, right?! You CAN do this! I had a really hard time busting through my plateau; it took quite a few weeks. But just put your mind to it! You WILL do it this time around!::yes:: Just keep eating right and exercising - the rest of it just HAS to fall into place!!
It's a new week, the :sunny: is out today and you are gonna do fine this week!:smooth:

Hi Val!
 for you today. That pesky scale needs a great big kick right now!::yes:: Is TOM around the corner? If so, that can definitely be a factor in weight gain. Maybe that one pound weight gain is due to all the muscle that you are shaping through the Pilates. Remember, muscle does weigh more than fat.::yes::

Val... you are doing a great job with exercise and you are making healthier food choices. I know that you will break through that weight plateau! You can do it Val! Just hang in there!

Have a great day tomorrow, Val!:sunny: Take good care of you!

Tracy:wave2:

alright val, that one pound, that just *has* to be water weight because of TOM, i have no doubt about it! of course it's hard to see a gain, but at least this one can be explained, and next week should bring a whoosh. and if not, well, this may be a nasty plateau. we've all seen em. we all hate em. but you will break through! just keep makign good food choices, and sticking to your exercise, and you will be able to do it. i have faith in you val. i know it's hard for this particular week, the dreaded dzone. but you can make it through, and next week will hopefully not only bring a whoosh, but a :sunny: new attitude as well ::yes::

hope that you have a great day today :sunny:

:grouphug: Thanks for all of the support, everyone. It really does help me get through each day knowing you are all here for me :D.

Yesterday went very well. I did get back to Pilates but only did one 10 minute routine (figured starting slowly was the best course). I will do a different 10 minute routine today. I also did two miles on the treadmill and will do the same today. Eating and water was okay too.

We bought our tickets for our Disney trip in Dec. since prices were going up the next day and I'm so excited :teeth: ! This trip is such a great motivator since I really want to be healthy and look nice for it. I want to be able to look at all the pictures and be happy with what I see.

I only have time for a quick post but I am going to try and get to some journals before I have to get ready for the kids to come.

Hey Val! Glad to see you were able to get back to your exercise!!:teeth: Good idea to take it slow and just add in a little each day.::yes::
Keep it up with the water and good food choices too. You definitely have the motivation now! Nothing worse than not wanting to show your Disney pictures because of how you look. :( But I know by Dec you are going to be looking great!!:earseek:
Take good care of you Val!

Hi Val!

Great job with the exercise! I bet it felt great getting back to the Pilates.

When are you heading to Disney in December? DH and I are going to be there over the holidays :earseek: to celebrate our 10th anniversary. There's nothing like a great trip to keep your motivation high!

Keep up the good work! :D

~Angela :wave2:

Good morning Val!
I am right there with you, girl! We bought our Disney tickets too and I am so excited! Of course they were supposed to be for our trip at the end of April :( , but at least we have them for our trip in December and we got them before the price increase. Woohoo!:Pinkbounc It's funny because WDW is the motivator for me in losing weight too. I saw the pictures and movies that we had taken at WDW last year and I could not deny any longer that I had gained too much weight. So, WDW has been my motivation too! DH has hinted that we may take a trip around my birthday in September, too. That made my day!:teeth:

Great job with the exercise, Val! I bet it felt really good to get back on the Pilates. I think taking it day by day is a good idea. You definitely don't want to pull your stomach muscle again.

Keep up the good work Val! You will look absolutely marvelous in December! Woohoo!

 Hi everyone. Thanks for stopping by!

Right now our trip is planned for 11/29 - 12/9. We may add one extra day on the end depending on if we fly or drive. We haven't been since 5/02 so I'm so excited :teeth: .

I got on the scale this morning and it actually read between 156 and 157 which made my day. Let's just see if I can keep it that low until weigh day now.

I only have time for a quick post now but I will have more time for everyone's journals tomorrow. Have a great day :sunny: !

Ooooo, the scale is cooperating!!! Hooray!! I'll hold off on the big celebration until weigh-day but I know how cool it is to see those numbers change!! ::yes::

What a wonderful time you've picked to be at Disney World! I just LOVE all the holiday decorations! You'll be in such good shape for this trip!!

Hope the rest of Wednesday goes well for you! :sunny:

Great numbers on the scale, Val! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Disney will be beautiful during your trip. We were there during that time period in 2002, and it was great (except for my constant morning sickness  ) I know just the feeling of excitement you're having...our whole house is the same way. It's almost ridiculous at times. :p

Hope that you had a great Wednesday!

~Angela :wave2:

hey val, that is so great that you had a pleasant peak at the scale! it's bound to stay down, since you're doing such a good job with your food and getting some exercise too!

and how exciting that you're planning your disney trip! i'm so jealous :p . it's definitely a great motivator to have! you're going to look fabulous for it :smooth:

hope you have a great day today :sunny:

Hey Val~
I hope you have a fabulous day today! Here's some :wizard: for weigh-in day. I hope that scale continues to cooperate! ::yes::

Take care,
Tracy:wave2:

Rain, rain, go away...

Guess it's time to see the final total for my March goals. They look like this:

1.)vitamins 31/31
2.)water 24/31
3.)limit fast food 27/31
4.)limit dessert 27/31
5.)exercise 24/31

I managed to mess up 3 out of 5 :( . I was one over on each of the fast food and desset cheats which is still better than previous habits but my goal was 28/31. I also set my water goal for 31/31 so that didn't happen. On the positive, I did more exercise than the goal. I think I'm going to try to do weekly goals for awhile and see how it goes.

My first will be from now until Sat. Then I will start Sun. - Sat. For this week:

goals:
1.) vitamins 3/3 days
2.)water 2/3 days
3.)limit fast food 2/3 days
4.)limit dessert 3/3 days
5.)exercise 2/3 days

We'll see how this goes. Still hoping for a good weigh in on Saturday so if I don't use that fast food cheat, all the better :D .

I have kept up with good habits this week and did Pilates in the a.m. and treadmill (2 miles) at night every night this week. I've also done good with eating. I even did well at my meeting Tuesday :D . That's all for now.

Wow Val! Your week looks really impressive! I hope the scale cooperates with you on Sat!!:Pinkbounc
I think you did really well with your goals. Even though you didn't meet the fast food and dessert ones, you were RIGHT there! I am sure you can improve on these and do better for April!::yes::
Here's :wizard: for Saturdays weigh-in. I just know that weight will hold (or do better!;) )
Have a great day Val!

Sharon :sunny: - The only sun we will be seeing for quite some time!!:p

Very nice goals indeed!!! Good luck with the weigh in on Sat!

Hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Friday Val!

Your goals for the week look great! I forgot that I was going to do monthly goals. I'll have to figure thm out this morning so that I'll only be a day behind.

Hope you have a great day! :wizard: for your weigh-in tomorrow!

~Angela :wave2:

Val, those goals look wonderful! And you really did well with last months goals. Think about what those numbers would have looked like 2 or 3 months ago, and you've come a long way baby!

Thanks so much for your support on my journal. I really appreciate it. Good luck with the weigh in tomorrow!
