Valet Parking at Monorail Resorts

Your observation that "It has also been shown on this thread that valet parking can not be used when going to the them parks..." has simply not been my experience...ever, not at "peak times" and not even during special events such as MVMCP. The "disclaimer" would be when staff tells me otherwise. My own experience valet parking continues to be reported to be the experience of MANY others. If the rules reported to me by staff change, then my practice of valet parking there will change as well. Until then though, I'm certainly not changing my practice due to concerns raised on an internet message board.

I am paying to valet park. I have always been honest in stating my intentions of going from the resort to the park. The usual reply to this is "Have a Magical Day!"

I notice that neither you nor CR4Life responded to my question regarding whether anyone staying at either the CR or the Poly has EVER been told that you couldn't valet park due to all of the non-guests doing so. I've asked that question many times on threads similar to this one. Have yet to get a response. Which again, begs the question...why do you care?

If there is one car in the lot or thousands the point is follow the rules. Is that such a difficult task? I care about people that will not do the right thing.......call me someone with a conscience who does their best to follow rules. Now (please) answer my questions. Why is it so difficult to follow rules? Why don't you pay to stay at monorail resorts?

What I never understand about these discussions, is the ones that seem to have no problem with "using" the amenities that other's pay for and that includes the parking lot, are the ones that don't stay at these particular resorts.

Until you "do" stay at these resorts and pay the high cost of that and have to walk from the TTC to the Polynesian even though you are a paying guest because the self park lot is "full" of nonresort guests, then how do you truly know if it would bother you or not. :confused3

Believe me I have experienced this and it can put a major damper on your good mood.

Because I kindly wanted a question answered. Do you have issue with that? This is a public forum.

Then you shouldn't have insulted us by saying that you had more important things to worry about than valet parking. Your comment implies that we don't... :coffee:

Perfectly said.....this has happened to us as well and it can ruin a day.

Where in my post did I insult you? :confused3

In total agreement! I WOULD be upset if that happened, no doubt! I'd be yelling at that guard to tow someone with an expired pass or expect to valet for free until that situation is corrected!

Personally, I've never self-parked and went to a park, but if a guard permits someone to do it, who's to blame? :confused3

I wouldn't be insulted if I were you. If this is the most concerning topic in your life you are truly blessed. Not to diminish the importance of having to walk across three extra parking spaces but it sounds like Kribit may have something more difficult to contend with.

You are insulted that I implied you don't :surfweb: ? That hardly makes sense Dingoballs. Perhaps you should be concerned with your comment made about CR Resort Fans "banter." I find that far more insulting to a person, especially now that I find out he's so young.

Give me a break.

I think what Dingo means is that everyone on this forum realizes that there are more important things in life to worry about than parking spaces at Disney resorts without someone having to state the fact. To do so implies that those that do discuss such are shallow whether you meant it that way or not.

However this "is" a Disney vacation planning forum, we are not discussing more important things. :confused3

CRFan is a young adult, not a kid.

I did not mean to imply people were shallow. Though I will say, I wouldn't have posed the question if I thought it were going to turn out like this.

I gather there is history about this topic I was unaware of but I received my answer and we can all go about our planning. Thanks.

That is not true. She is entitled to more than that! As far as I know, the pool is supposed to be for resort guests only and the Monorail is for Poly resort guests and other monorail resort guests. Am I wrong? Though I do think that DVC members are allowed to use the pool but no one else. It bothers me also that people who don't stay at the deluxes, that I save very hard for, think they can use all the amenities. It is not supposed to be allowed.

Okay others might have addressed this but I only got to this post and the pp about the privilages of deluxe hotels. First of all things in the world are not black and white there are gray parts to. Disney is suppose to be a magic place. I think that many people are making a lot of rude comments when all someone was doing was asking a question.
Secondly I am glad for anyone who can afford a deluxe and get to do it when they go to Disney. We are a family of five, my husband is a very dedicated firefighter who will help anyone(no matter where they park or stay) we don't make a lot of money. Actually he took a huge pay cut 6 years ago to do this life changing career. We can not afford a deluxe, we were hoping to stay in one in 2008 but just think our money would be better placed somewhere else in the park. My point being just bc we don't pay for the deluxe doesn't mean we can't enjoy your hotel (site seeing)or your monorail or your resturants. I wish everyone would calm down. We are all friends. Give your opinion and go on. That's my peace now I'll move on...

I don't think anyone has a problem with this, but there is no reason for nonresort guest to take up parking that resort guests need in order to visit another resort. They can use Disney transportation and these discussions would be a moot point.

Raising my hand!!!!!! I am far from university age, & I am truly upset at the way these Dis board words can change. This has nothing to do with blessings because I have literally laid on deaths door twice in my life this is purely about what is right or wrong.
Take advantage of you have paid for.
Don't cheat the system. Do not teach your children to do whatever they can get away with.
Show grace, be still...Take the right path not the cheating path, what is really the point? Getting away with something? Cheating others?
Done with the lecture, just disgusted.

No some have stated that their paying a lot of money and they should get the hammocks on the beach and the beach chairs, and the monorail should be for guest of the resort and so on. It was stated on the third page of this thread. I feel like my kids can enjoy the world and all it offers to. Even if we can't pay out $$$$ for a room. I understand the parking and the pools, but some people have taken it past that and that's what I am commenting on. It's all about keeping up with the Jones and what you have and others don't. I know that sounds awful and I will teach my kids that we are blessed with what we have and everything else is frosting on top. Just to make a point for the little people. POPs was outstanding, loved the pools, parking, buses staff, room etc and we didn't break the bank!

I happen to agree with your stance on "taking advantage of what you have paid for", I'm also in agreement with Kribit that this isn't a life or death situation. If I am staying at the wilderness Lodge and want to drive my children to The Contemporary for breakfast, I don't see the harm in leaving my car on Disney Property designated for guests especially if I have paid an additional fee for valet. I'm sure my children will still be secure enough in themselves not to knock off a liquor store because their law breaking daddy ripped off the Disney Corp. or offended the good graces of fellow humans by parking someplace more convenient.

Why is it unreasonable to just take what you paid for? Just realize those of us that do pay for the deluxe perks also pay for the upkeep, the gardens, the better restaurants, best viewing areas for the fireworks, etc.
Your DH took a pay cut by choice? Great enjoy his life changing experience but get out of the hammocks, don't stand in front of my lanai when WE are paying the big $$$$$$
