Valentines day Cruise docs arrived but....

2/14 docs came today
I was very excited to get the documents today but was disappointed to find no shore excursion info in side- called DCL to find out why. Well it turns out that they should have been sent out on 11/26 with a final payment notice, but since we booked 1/2 DVC points 1/2 cash and the cash was due at booking back in April we werent on the list to receive the excursion info either. Bummer I am not sure if we will be able to book anything now

When I went on my Wonder Cruise, I tried to book a few excursions as far in advance as possible. There were a few that were already filled, but I kept trying throughout the months before we left and each one opened up for me

Don't be discouraged! People change their minds a lot in 60 days, LOL!

Actually, you can usually get anything you want after you board. If you want to book now, you can check out the various excursions on line, then call DCL and book or book on line. You should have no trouble "getting anything." If you're feeling adventurous, almost all the DCL excursions can be arranged privately at a significant savings.

We were on the NYE cruise, so it was completely sold out, and had no trouble getting what we wanted on board. Still, if you want to book ahead of time you can view the shore excursion brochures at the Barb & Tony's site:

If the 800# is not there, I'm sure if you post a separate question asking for it someone can give it to you. The excursions don't change much!

Don't Panic! I was on the 8/30 Magic with my sister and we changed our excursions while onboard and had no problem at all on a pretty sold out cruise. They told me at the excursion desk that they actually only prebook 50% of the excursions and the rest are left to be booked while folks are on board. Also - when you get onboard on the first day, if the shore excursion desk is not open, go to guest services because they can book you too. Try calling now to see if there is availability for the excursions you want - if there isn't, just go straight to guest services when you get on-board and reserve your tickets there!

We're on the 2/19 3-day we received our excursion info a while ago and we are booked on all DVC points. When I called to make my excursion reservations she tried to tell me that I couldn't until I paid the balance- I didn't have a balance because I used my DVC points. I think DVC must not pay them until the last minute. I actually received a double mailing of the excursion info which I thought was strange.
