Has anyone ever used those "spacebags" or another version of the travel bags that you roll to remove air to fit lots of stuff in your suitcase?

I was wondering if you can only use these for play clothes. If I put capris, blouses, DH's dress slacks, dress shirt, etc in one of these vacuum bags will they be incredibly wrinkled? I don't want to iron on the cruise but was thinking about using these bags.

I have used them, but I pack only items that do not wrinkle easily. (I think the instructions recommended this.) They DO save tons of space, but dresses, etc. will wrinkle. I have also used those packing envelopes--they are great! Shirts and slacks stay so nice and wrinkle free. :)

I used to be a frequent traveler and so I purchased some of these bags. I only used them once because...

1) The items inside get very wrinkled.
2) They're a pain to use... take too much time to use.
3) The space you gain isn't worth the hassle of using them.

Instead, refine your packing list so that you're not bringing so much stuff. Look over the trip reports. In report after report you'll find people saying "I wish I hadn't packed so much stuff". I think you'll have to look a long time to find someone regretting they didn't bring more clothes.

We bring our pillows with us and pack up most of our clothes in them so that when we come home we have more room. The clothes can get wrinkled so we bring along a bottle of Downy Wrinkle Releaser and some extra hangers and we havent had a problem with them yet. I even have the kind of bags that you are SUPPOSED to use the vaccuum with but we just put everything in it, seal it almost to the end and roll them up tight! They worked so good on our 8 day cruise this last January that we had enough room to bring home all the souveniers we bought with room to spare! I guess we are in the minority but we love them and use them everytime we travel!!! I dont pack really nice things in them however like fancy evening gowns or something but jeans, shorts, t-shirts, pillows, bathing suits...that kind of stuff heck yeah we use them and love them...plus it leaves us more room for drinks and snacks! LOL

I love, love, love Downy Wrinkle releaser! We spent no time in line for the iron before dinner because of it! Bring some along!!

Also have DCL press your suits or formal clothes if they need it. It's $7.00 for a suit & they do a nice job, well worth it. The irons on the ship are not great!
