which would you choose? what did you like/dislike?

family of 5 with 2 boys 9 and 12 and DD 18

closeness to disney and maybe universal?

stuff to do at the resort?

convenience to grocery stores, etc?

thanks for any help!

Both are nice, high end resorts. Location, units, ability to walk to services and more of a resort "feel" all favor Cypress Pointe.

I own at Vacation Village @ Parkway (VVP). There is plenty of room at VVP but very limited amenities. If you are going to spend any time at the resort, I would recommend Cyress.

I've only stayed at VV at Parkway. As far as spaciousness of the units, I don't think it can be beat. I had a 2 bedroom, which is really 2 one bed units, so I had 2 living rooms, a full kitchen and a mini-kitchen, 2 balconies,
a huge big screen tv, 2 washers. It is one mile from World Drive

I haven't been to Cyprus Pointe, tho it is highly spoken of here.

There used to be a list of top timeshare condos on the dis...would be great to see that revived!

I've stayed at Cypress Pointe, and it was very nice. Beautiful, nicely decorated suites, a pool and snack bar, etc. Excellant location, too, very close to downtown Disney. The pool was too cool for my tastes, but this was at Christmas; it is probably warmer the rest of the year.

VVP is supposed to have nice rooms (although the B sides are small, more like a studio that a one bedroom -- those are the ones that say "limited kitchen.") However, the resort has many units crammed together, and few amenities.

Actually, the one-bedrooms at Cypress Pointe are also not really one-bedrooms -- more of a hotel room, really, so try to get at least a two bedroom if you stay there. Cypress Pointe Grandvillas, on the other hand, have real one-bedrooms, I hear. (Cypress Pointe and Cypress Pointe Grandvillas are right next to each other and share amenities; they are different phases of the same resort.)

edited for spelling

We stayed at Cypress Pointe about 6 yrs. ago. It was soo nice. :cloud9: The whole place has recently been remodeled. I was just at their website looking it up for a friend and they show lots of photos of the new units (during construction and after completion) It's www.cypresspointe.net. I'd love to stay again but we own a week at Summer Bay.
