Vacation rentals in Hawaii

Hi all! Dh wants to go somewhere non-Disney for our next big family vacay so we're thinking/planning Hawaii. Has anyone rented a condo in Hawaii? If so, where and what site did you use for booking? Right now we're looking at a few properties in Waikoloa (Big Island). We're looking for something Windsor Hills-esque, if that helps.

We booked a 2 bedroom oceanfront condo in Kapalua, Maui through Hawaiian Rentals dot com. The place was better than the pictures and well worth the $$$$ spent on it.

Definitely check out vrbo.com (Vacation Rentals by Owner) and homeaway.com. We used them the last two times we went to Hawaii and had great luck! When we went to the Big Island we stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa, so I can't help you with condos there though.

If you are interested in Maui though, let me know. We rented a condo there that goes for around $350/night, but we got it through vrbo.com for $130/night! It was beautiful and right on the beach. It is in Ka'anapali which is a great location too. I know I still have the information because we want to go back!

Was this at the Ka'anapali Ali'i? That is where I was going to suggest. When we rented there, we didn't go through them, we found a real estate agent on Maui and rented through her for much less than then rack rate. The Ali'i is perfectly located and is beautiful!
