Vacation As You Wish Webcast

Thanks, I will call in the morning I am TOO tired now!! It was FUN to watch and I learned about it on the Dis boards also. I did not realize when I signed up that it was for NEW members :confused3 Joan

I was hoping you could buy for AKV --BLT doesn't thrill me. I had heard that this MAY have been offered. Thought the giveaways were good idea and I still Love my party in a box. Yes, the member stories tug the heart
I read in the fine print that offer good until June 20

Has anyone received their "Party in a Box" yet?

::yes:: pixiedust:

New Member Incentives from the Webcast

160-point Level: $16/point discount = $2,650 off purchase price

200-point Level: $18/point discount = $3,600 off purchase price

270-point Level: $20/point discount = $5,400 off purchase price

320-point Level: $21/point discount = $6,720 off purchase price

500-point Level: $23/point discount = $11,500 off purchase price

Contracts come with February 2009 points, give you a February Use Year. Only pay annual dues for Aug-Dec in 2009. $345 closing costs.

ETA: Incentives good through 6/20/09 (Thanks tecodis! ;) )

Incentives are only available to people watching the webcasts.

Prizes: Framed African collar, Framed Mickey art from BLT, one-week RCI stay

For anyone: :upsidedow I am so confused. We just bought, haven't closed yet with a $19/point discount for SSR (used a referral and skipped the cruise). So if I am reading this correctly, the incentive we just got is better than the above? :thanks:

So nothing new really. Under the current incentives I can buy 125 points at BLT for $96.

The new incentives will give me the price of $96 but I have to buy 160 points!

I'm disappointed that the only real incentive is for someone who wants to buy ALOT of points.

I'm pretty sure you CAN buy at AKV and other resorts. They said at the beginning that they were using BLT as an example to keep it simple.

And fyi, the African collar prize - that was the AKV founder gift. I have one hanging on my wall! Only difference is mine says something about being a founding member and has our family name on it.

Yes, n2mm but those are MEMBER incentives. This presentation was for new owners.

The webcast was geared toward BLT and while they didn't say these were only for BLT, that is the impression that I got.

But, you only qualify for the incentives if you were registered for the webcast. I would call your guide in the AM for sure.

I was hoping some of these would translate to members adding on at lower levels, but it was still nice to watch.

We won't call until tomorrow either. I don't suppose you can use a referral on top of the new deal???

:thanks: I am registered for the 6/13 webcast which I am assuming will be the same. I did get my box of cool swag. :lovestruc

Yea, if I could buy 2000 points...wow! There is no way I could justify spending $178,000 and another $7700 a year in dues for DVC!
(obviously I'm no Corporate America CEO)

Hi, So you are already a DVC Member?? They only mentioned a Feb. use year and I am a June use year. Do you think they will refer me to my GUIDE also?? Joan

We're members too; wondering too about different Use Year :confused3

Unless my math is incorrect, for an add-on you'd need to purchase 200 or more points to gain any additional savings over pre-webcast incentive {but we don't know for certain that these webcast incentives even apply to add ons; it may be that current members will need a new contract issued to take advantage }

Non-webcast Add-on Incentive is $16 off per pt on 125+ pts so $96

( be assured if we add on at BLT it will not be for 200 pts :scared1:)

:goodvibes

No kidding. That was one of the reasons I was going to go through Disney and not The Timeshare Store. Interesting. Nickel and dime or making up for the deeper incentives and not really giving you a better deal?

For First time purchaser buying directly through Disney there is closing costs/fees; subsequent add-on purchases do not have closing costs/fees when purchased through Disney.

:goodvibes

So, I will admit, I am a total newbie, but these incentives seem decent for 200 points.

My kids are 5 and 1. I think Disney/Orlando will serve us well for a long while. hmmm. lots to think about

I checked my contract...there were closing costs, about $235!
:scared1:

That darn fine print!
:lmao:

Looks like I'll be waiting for the DVC Boston show to see what they offer anything better there. Glad I got to see it.

These incentives are much better than those at the DVC show we attended in Anaheim a few months ago (-$5/point @ 160, -$7/point @ 200 and 250, -$9/point at 320, etc.), but that was before the current round of incentives that is expiring June 15. Who knows how low it'll go by the time they reach Boston! :lmao:

I called and asked this question. The answer is no. The only incentive is the discount on points. I actually put my deposit on Thursday for 270 points at BLT. The discount works out to better than what I can get with a referral if I did not take the 1 week cruise, but when I look at the price for the cruise, on the low end it would still cost me an extra $1000 if I took the discount AND paid for the cruise myself, so I am sticking with my cruise. ANd that is based on me going on December 4 which is their lowest season. If I went on November 21 then the savings are over $3,000. But I prefer December 4 because with hopefully fewer people on the ship it will be easier to do the thigns we want!

I am a little upset we still haven't gotten our party in a box:confused3. We felt so left out watching the webcast when they refered to the items!!!!

I was surprised we got our party in a box because the webcast and giveaways were for US residents only. But when I signed up I used the 2nd address line for my full address and just listed NY and put in the Zip code for the Buffalo Airport and they managed to still send me the package here in Canada! Too funny.
