I would like to go to the V&A but I don't think i could wear a jacket. I am happy to go in shoes/trousers/shirt/tie and be smart but I do not like jackets.

Do they INSIST on jackets ?

Yes they do. They even used to have a service where they will provide you with a jacket if you don't have one, and I believe that they still offer this service.

I'd call V&A's and ask if they still offer the loaner jacket. If not, you'll have to bring one so you don't get turned away.

Yes, a jacket is required for men. A tie is not required, hubby wears a dressy mens tshirt (those silk type things) under his suit and it looks great.

Vicky & Al's is the only restaurant in Central Florida -- perhaps all of Florida -- that still requires jackets for gentlemen, and I applaud it. My having a strict dress code they ensure the level of quality will be high for all diners. Now, if only all the other restaurants would set a policy of no baseball caps!

They do still have loaner jackets and will make you wear one if you show up w/o one. A couple of trips back we saw a fellow with a loaner jacket--had on dark brown pants and a purple polo shirt. Went real well with the blue jacket:rolleyes1

During our last meal a man sat at the table next to our took his jacket off when he sat at the table, the server reminded him that if he needed to walk through the restraunt to the restroom he needed to put his jacket back on.
