We have a short trip in October where we will only be in the park 4 days. The way my TP worked out, its morning EMH on the days we visit each park. Should I rearrange park days to avoid this or not? Does it really make it busier??

We love AM EMH.

If you cannot actually ATTEND the EMH, it makes sense to avoid that park on EMH day

(within a few hours of the time of the EMH) because many more guests

will have arrived at that park to attend the EMH.

Otherwise, if it is POSSIBLE for you to attend the EMH-

Never attending EMH's because they will be "too crowded or overly-stressful,"

is like never eating grapes because they will be "too sour."

CAN be that way.

Doesn't HAVE to be that way.

Each EMH experience can be different.

We always go to AM EMH (virtually every day of the trip

that we did not do a PM EMH late the night before)...

never ONCE regretted an AM EMH... they are amazingly

empty and easy to ride the open attractions.

If that park then starts to fill 2 to 3 hours later...

We're happy with "doing" that park for the day and we

can HOP elsewhere or do lunch and take a rest until

later.

On a normal trip, we would hop and split park days. But since we are only going to be there 4 days I wasn't planning on doing that. My TP is to spend the entire day at each park.
When I started thinking about it I started to think we might be really wearing ourselves out getting there early each day. The first night we are doing MNSSHP and that night is really our only late night. But the next morning we hit AK at 8am.

Does the EMH start at 8 am? If so, I've read you really need to be at the park by 7:15 in order to be at the front of the mob instead of at the back. I would say if you are not ready to commit to that, redo your park days to avoid the morning EMHs.

We do have park hoppers. I just wasn't sure about using our time to hop when we are only there 4 days. We are bringing along a first timer also so trying to get as much in during those 4 days as we can.
Do parks with morning EMH stay busy through out the entire day? Would it be better to start somewhere else and hop there for the evenings?

I also might add I didn't pay extra for the park hoppers. They are military tickets Don't want anyone to thinking I am crazy for having park hoppers when we didn't plan on hopping lol

I wish I had thought this through better. You would think this is my first trip!! Grrrrr

Yes. Start at a non EMH morning park and then hop over later on.

Ok. I'm going to look at doing that. We have the dining plan so I'm not sure I could change everything around. I'm looking at reservations right now and if I can get what I want I will switch. Otherwise we might hop. Even though we are only talking about an hour earlier, I don't want to wear every one down. We have a lot planned in those 4 days! Lol

You'll get so much done during EMH, it will more than make up for any increased crowds you have to deal with later. That is if you're staying at a Disney resort & actually utilizing those EMH.

If you're staying offsite, then yes, I would switch park days to avoid them.

We are at a Disney resort.

No, no, no. The opposite. Go to the park WITH the morning EMH, spend the first several hours there; you will get a ton done and the reality is even if everyone eligible takes advantage of the EMH, that won't feel too crowded. (And more people than not don't go early in the morning.). Then, around lunchtime when it starts to get busier because the people that took advantage of EMH that don't have hoppers are still there, and the regular park crowd is coming in, too...THEN hop to the least-crowded predicted park....or better yet, the one with evening EMH to really maximize your park time.

I agree with this. Stay away from the morning EMH parks if you're not going to get there in time to be toward the front of pack. With travel time from your resort, you'd probably need to leave around 6:45 (or even earlier). If you don't want to get up that early, avoid the AM EMH park.

How about going to two morning EMHs, and the other two days you could go to a non-EMH park. You sure wouldn't want to get up super-early after your MNSSHP night. I say sleep in the next morning, then go to a non-EMH park.

And if you already have hopper tickets, I think the strategy is go to a morning EMH, then hop to a different park when the first park gets busy. You get the advantage of really short lines in your EMH park, then when the crowds get crazy, go elsewhere! The morning EMH parks tend to be the most crowded, since lots of people don't get hoppers and can't leave.

If you are going to an EMH park get there early. If you can't get there early go to a non EMH park.

We love to utilize EMH in the morning! Especially at MK, you can get a lot done in that hour with no to little wait time! Since you will have a late night at MK at the MNSSHP, it would be fun to mix it up and hop to different parks. We used to always hop to Epcot for the evening and we would have reservations at a nice TS restaurant. It is a great way to end the evening. Now that AK is open late, I can't wait to close it down too!

My biggest concern is my morning after MNSSHP is a morning EMH. I think I need to revamp this somehow.
Normally we are there more days and we hit MK on several days. I am finding this 4 day trip harder to plan

Yes, i would re-work, def wouldn't plan an EMH morning after a party night. Like another poster said, maybe do 1 or 2 EMH. On those days you may plan an afternoon break perhaps. If you have the PH, i would at least entertain the idea of hopping. I find it's less stressful and really helpful on short trips in particular.

I ended up switching everything around. I feel so much better now lol I am not a morning person and one or two early mornings are ok. But I don't want to stress about all of them being early. Thanks for all the input!!
