Utilidoors and Fantasyland Expansion

Does anyone know if there are any plans in the expansion to also expand the utilidoors out into the new area.

I don't know -- but I don't think any of it goes out to Toontown as it is, so probably not. A big portion of it runs right through the center of the current Fantasyland, I believe. But someone else here probably knows better than I do.

Cast who work in Toontown currently catch a bus from the entrance of the Utilidoors over to their area such as judges tent, fairy room, princess room etc.

Actually if your working in TT and want to have lunch at the Mousketeria then you need to get on a bus which eats up a lot of lunch time.

I wasn't sure if since there was so much digging going on if they would just go ahead and expand the tunnel over to link it up.

I take it back they were to be expanded in the original plans now that FLE is being gutted and we might only get TLM and Be our guest eatery I doubt they will be expanded.

As of right now the only parts of FLE that are 100% going forward are TLM ride and Be our Guest Restaurant.

The meet and greets and Dumbo will MOST LIKELY happen but Pixie Hollow Is dead. Thank God.

I hadn't heard and I had no idea. Wow. That's big news -- I'm surprised I missed it. Maybe you should start a thread with your info for other people who may have missed it.

It is not all Doom and Gloom, the Big Wigs in Burbank feel that FLE is too girl centered, which it was. So they might cancel some of FLE and expand Frontierland as well.

As of right now the only part of FLE that is dead is PH.

It is very girl-centric, that's true. I didn't buy their logic that boys would be interested in FLE because it would contain princes and villains.

That said, it would have been nice to complete the expansion AND launch an expansion elsewhere to balance it out. Or, since they've become big on duplicating rides, add "Journey to the Center of the Earth" from DisneySea to Adventureland (if there's room). That's a fantastic ride.

I would love to see them keep the same theme of a forest but make a dark section with dead trees, fog, haunted mansion type path leading up to a "Villains Mountain" e-ticket dark-ride/roller coaster. You stay within the princess theme but you appeal to boys and adults.

This was planned but it was called Bald Mountain.

Bald Mountain was planned for an expansion back in 2000 or so that didn't happen. Of course, ideas only get shelved, so it could be dusted off...

As to the original topic - not sure why the utilidors would need expansion for this. The main entrance to the utilidors is already where the FL expansion starts. And they are re-using the land that was already there, which if there weren't already utilidors would require expensive tunneling or raising the land.

The only reason I could see if they needed to do this is if Toontown did not get absorbed into Fantasyland, but became a new land (or a significantly different theme of it - say, Fantasy villains ) and they did not want the CMs from one area crossing another (the original intent of the utilidors). If it is all Fantasyland, there isn't a need.

In other news, my sources tell me that Disney is opening a fifth theme park based on sports and disney villians. It will be linked by a bridge to Animal Kingdom and called Beastly Bad Guy Nightly Stadium and will include a monorail extension. My sources are 100% sure and "articles" on numerous forums and blogs will follow.

Oh and the themepark is to be built in Louisiana and Texas... its going to be a heck of a monorail expansion.

At least I know how to tell the truth. I notice how you fail to address even one of the things in comments. Yep, smells like manure to me... or the average Jim Hill/Internet Forum truth. I suppose you'll be telling us Rock n Roller Coaster is being rethemed to the Jonas Brothers. If you are going to try and pass yourself as knowledgable at least say your an imagineer or an imagineers brothers uncles, sisters former roommate.

Of course, all of the people posting the regurgitations of low level cast members and other people desperate for attention really haven't been following the central tenet of the Iger regime. BRANDING BRANDING BRANDING. Bobby is all about the branding... why do you think Marvel was aquired?

Yeah, its TOTALLY believable that Bobby is going to let something be shelved that works to extend a branding they have been building for 5 years. Of course, Iger and gang are going to stray from their central Disney business philosophy.


Just to let you know, linking to threads where you yourself TALK about your sources as some of your sources really isn't a source...

But please share with us which bus driver, quick service CM, or custodian that told you this. Reminds me of time there where my managers SWORE a new gate would open in 5 years based on Villians and Sports (although always rumored as separate themes).

Anyone in the know isn't sharing this info on a forum board like this and certainly not sharing it with someone that would post it on here. Jim Hill has been proven to NOT be in the know year after year.
