UTI and Cipro..scared to take it?!

Drink lots of water and then drink some more.

The only time I read them is when I am taking something and start feel... off. Then I will look through the side effects to see if it could be the meds or something else.
Yup, that's the way I operate too. It prevents my inner paranoid hypochondriac from taking over!:P

Just returning to update..today is my last day of Cipro! Ankles seem fine but my neck is really gotten tight and REALLY sore on left side and my knees have a little ache to them. Stomach stayed a little upset but nothing terrible and I have had some headaches.
I should find out what the culture results are today. Still some fullness (like I've got to go to the bathroom) at night when I lay down to sleep. I took AZO to counter that!
Thanks again for all the feedback :)

Just note that if you are a runner, Cipro is NOT advised. I was prescribed Cipro in an ER and then vaguely remembered the black box warning about tendon rupture. I called my doctor and she told me to take only the first dose and then come in the next day and get a prescription for a different antibiotic. Her husband is a sports medicine doctor, whom she consults with, so I trusted her opinion over an ER PA who KNEW I was a runner. The tendon rupture risk is very real for runners. If there's an alternative, try it first.

If you need it, take it. I put off antibiotics (amoxicillin) for a chest infection, thank goodness I didn't get worse as it was right before we went on holiday. My last dose of a 21 dose box was the second morning of our trip. I wish I had started them right away instead of panicking about side effects because it meant I also felt unwell for longer.

I just had a small snack before each dose to prevent stomach issues, and indeed no stomach problems occurred.

My Dr messaged me and said

"Yes your urine culture came back today it is negative, very unusual in that your urinalysis was positive for leukocytes and nitrates, both usually seen in urinary tract infections"

So, now I'm wondering what that means exactly!! I sent him a message back asking, but haven't heard back yet...smh! I wished he would've explained a little better.
I still think I had/have a infection but wondering if there's more to it?!?

If the culture was negative, there was no bacteria, hence no infection. Most likely an inflamed bladder vs an infection, happens all the time and they are routinely mistreated with antibiotics.
