It finally happened. I rec'd a Disney item (not a pin) from an Ebay seller and it was broken beyond any repair.
The seller has been very nice. She even paid for insurance although I didn't.
She had to mail me her insurance receipt, and I filed a claim tonight at the post office.
The seller insured it for $50. I only paid (w/shipping) $24.
I was surprised the post office put down a value of $50, even though my receipt of payment only showed what I actually paid.
And I am wondering -- What do they do with the broken item? I assume just trash it, since it's not a good to anyone.
This seems odd too -- I went to file a claim earlier this month and was told I had to have the insurance receipt. (Although the seller was told the postage label was enough.)
Okay, fine. She mails me the receipt.
I take it all down to the post office again.
Now they have to send the paperwork to the seller to have her confirm I am the one to get the refund.
You would have thought they would have the person who paid for the insurance file in the first place, and then maybe confirm it with me.
Just seems like a lot of going back and forth.
Luckily I have a nice seller willing to work with me.
