I got an email saying the package was delivered to my house, but the package is not here. Is this common? For example was it just scanned and the mail carrier will bring it tomorrow?

A kind neighbor in the next subdivision delivered a package the USPS had "delivered" to us one year. Thank goodness, it was the big present for our oldest hopefully your package gets to you very soon.

The time it happened to me it was UPS. Driver remembered accidently leaving it next door so I walked next door, chit chatted few minutes thinking she would offer it up-No! Finally had to ask if she has my package. She suddenly remembered it but said she had accidently opened it!
Hope it shows up tomorrow!

A few times they put it in the garage instead of on the front porch. Did you look all around the house?

If it doesn't show up, call UPS. They can tell by GPS where it was actually delivered to. This happened to me about a year ago. Package said it was delivered, it wasn't. I call and they tell me the standard "did you check with your neighbors"? Yada, yada. After a few days of calling and explaining that no one around me had it and it hadn't showed up, they traced the driver who had actually delivered it to a house a few streets over. The driver then went to this house to try and get the package and no one was home. He then came to tell me and that they would work to get it back. About an hour later I notice a mini-van in front of my house. Not until I go to the door does anyone get out and then she says she has my package. Ummm...you just never noticed it for a week? It wasn't opened so I don't know why she waited a week. It was just scrapbooks so it wasn't anything you could make money off of!!

Thanks everyone. Our mailman is awesome and so are our neighbors, so we're not too worried. Hopefully we'll receive it tomorrow.

Was it a small package? We did one time have a small package (shirt in a mailing bag) blow off our front porch at Christmas. We thought it had been delivered to a neighbor who never reunited us/etc. and figured it gone until late spring when we started cleaning up the woods behind our house. Found it caught in a bush. Great packaging!! It was in perfect condition after several snow/rain/ice storms!

My DD orders a lot on line and this happens to her quite frequently. The Post Office will scan in the package as delivered but it might not show up until the next day. She had one package that was transferred between two distribution centers 12 times over a two week period. After numerous calls to the help center, she was finally connected with someone who helped locate the package and route it to our local post office.

Personally I never had a package marked as delivered when it wasn't. Once a package was deliver to our neighbors but they brought it over before we realized it was missing. I would call them ASAP to figure out what is going on. Unfortunately it is the time a year people start stealing packages.

I have had it happen before. The last time it happened it was a Vera Bradley order, so it was pricey. It showed up the next week no worse for the wear.

I had a postal person throw a package in a porch area that really is not used. It is off a bedroom which is now my bedroom. But that package was there for 4 days. I was not happy. So check everywhere. Don't start me on postal carriers. I am so over done with them.

I have dealt with this more times than I care to remember. More often than not, the package is delivered within 1-2 of the delivery confirmation. I've had a few instances though where my packages were delivered to the neighbors across the street, so I would check with them as a just in case. There have also been a few times when the package just simply never showed up. USPS is of little help, but I always make sure to contact them prior to contacting the company I purchased from. Merchants tend to be very understanding and re-ship the missing items to me. I always ask that when they re-ship that I ask for a signature confirmation.

I would give it a few more days and then explore the avenues that I listed above.
