using someones tickets

I HAVE UNUSED DAYS ON OUR TICKETS FROM OUR LAST TRIP. I AM PLANNING ANOTHER TRIP WITH MY SISTERS IN OCT. CAN THEY USE MY HUSBANDS AND ADULT CHILDRENS UNUSED TICKETS?

What kind of tickets? If they are hoppers you can share them. You can't share any type of ticket that requires biometrics (finger scans)

And, assuming that the children using them are the correct age for the ticket. Adult tickets may raise an eyebrow if the kids are between 3 and 9.

While the tickets say they are non-transferrable, there is really no way to check on park hopper tickets. I am the keeper of the tickets with unused days for our family. After many trips I have had mine, DH, my mother and my sister, BIL, and adult niece and nephews tickets. The next year when we have gone, no one remembers whose ticket was whose. I have never been asked or questioned about using last years ticket.

We had left over days (2 each on 2 tickets) for a parkhopper pass and gave them to my parents when they came down with us for our last trip. They used them with no problem and vice versa in the past (we have used their unused days with no problems either). They did not have anyone's names on them though (bought from the Disney Store not issued at the Resort at Disney-where I think they may put your name on them, but even then, I've never been checked for I.D. at the gate).

Disney is very clear on the matter, tickets are nontransferrable. Sure you might get away with it but why take the chance of having the tickets confiscated and your trip ruined.

Again, these had no one's names printed on it, nor were they assigned any names to them electronically so it's hard to transfer a nameless pass to an individual. And being we bought two new five day park hopper passes, there was no way these days were getting wasted. I shall aspire to be a model citizen in the future but if the situation arises again, I will handle it the exact same way.

And if they have no name on them, how on earth would Disney find out? It's not like you bought them on ebay for goodness sakes. We have parkhoppers-2 adult and 1 child. My DH has used mine and I have used his, they are indistinguishable and we could not tell them apart if we wanted to. In addition, my sister and her DH and daughter borrowed them for one day after we got APs. Guess what no one checked and honestly there is really no way for them to check. Use those hoppers and enjoy!

Well using the logic used here since Walmart doesn't check everyones pockets/pockebooks etc as they leave then it is ok to stuff them full of merchandise.

Sha-lyn there is absolutely no relationship to something that was paid for and something that was stolen. They are not stealing anything, these passes were paid for. Someone taking something out of a store without paying for it is stealing.
It is not like not paying for a 3 year old at the parks, that is stealing. Given your line of thought, no one should be able to buy a ticket as a gift for someone else. I don't do it cause I have annual passes but, I did use my former husband's left over pass, which I found after many years, towards Dee's annual pass and thought nothing of it. The woman never questioned the names being different (this was an OLD pass where you signed it).
If it was a big deal I am sure it would have been questioned.

Just for the record I have been asked for my ID on at least three different visits. So, do not take 100% comfort in the fact that others have never had their ID checked.

I can only imagine it would be awfully embarrassing.

I understand that there is no name or ID to check this against just wanted to let ya know they do, can and will check even if not in a case such as this one.

Just curious, what type of pass? If a hopper, what would they be looking for? I could see a resort id for EE but again, even with ID how do they know if it is your hopepr or not?

Believe me, few people like WDW as much as I but when someone presumes to tell me what I can or cannot do with my property, I get angry.

My take is this, I paid money for the passes. Once Disney accepted my money they gave me a piece of paper that, in effect, allows me to enter the park(s). That is my property at that point. I got it in exchange for cash. Now that it is my "property" I will do what I want with it, use it, burn it or give it away.

Disney came up with a very good system that prevented the "hawkers" from selling partially used tickets outside the parks. I understood that and am OK with it, but if I bought a ticket so that one of my daughters could go with me and then let her sister use the remaining time to go as well, that is my business. AP's are different. They are a discounted amount and if people just started passing them around to everyone, no one would ever pay to get in again.

It is the same line of logic that I have seen with "Gift Certificates" that are void if not used within a specific period of time. Excuse me? My cash didn't have an expiration date, neither do these certificates.

I am all for being law abiding but common sense has got to rule. Disney has no right to tell someone that they will keep their money but if you are unable to use the passes yourself, tough, you lose! I don't think so.... Even Disney knows that and that is why they don't question it.

I guess I don't really understand why Disney makes the hopper's non-transferable in the first place. It seems like they should follow the "don't make rules you can't enforce" policy. For a hopper, they don't request id when you buy them so there is absolutely no way for them to know who they originally belonged to. There is also no way to get more value out of them than was originally paid for ( I guess except for using child's pass for older's, that would be dishonest) so Disney does not lose bucks.

Maybe it's some legal thing.

Now for Annual Passes the reason for not allowing other users is obvious.

I'm as big a stickler for following the rules as anyone, but really common sense has got to prevail regarding "non-transferrable" passes.

I believe the reason they say non-transferrable is to prevent the re-sale or sale of tickets by unauthorized sources. As long as you're not re-selling or selling them for profit I think you can relax knowing that you're not violating the spirit of the rule and what it was intended to do.

Basically, the use of the ticket in question by the OP does not involve a commercial transaction, so Disney has no say so in this. There is no problem with the sisters using the tickets.

Do you not understand the difference between law and company policies? When a person purchases a ticket they enter into a business transaction with Disney and agree to follow the terms of that said transaction. One such term is that the ticket is non transferrable. Disney has every right to set such policy. You do not have a right to disreguard such policies just because you don't like it. If you have a problem with the policy then do not do business with WDW.

If this were the case then the policy would be "not for resale" instead of "non transferrable"
