Using Points At Other Hotels

WE HAVE POINTS AT OKW, VWL, BCV AND NOW AT SSR. OUR OLDEST SON WANTS TO STAY AT THE CONTEMPORARY. ANY COMMENTS? HAVE YOU STAYED THERE OR HAS ANYONE ELSE USED POINTS TO STAY IN A DISNEY HOTEL?

Yes - most of the time we stay at a DVC resort then the last day (generally Thursday night) we transfer over to a WDW hotel - but I certainly don't do this every trip. Once in a while - it is not a bad thing....

or if WDW is having a great discount program - I pay cash and stay on Friday night -

DVC member if they choose the Tower - generally get the MK view - if that helps.

now the problem would be if he wanted to stay the entire time and you are staying a week....

We have stayed at the Contemporary, but that was in 1978 before the convention center and the wings if my memory is accurate. Paid something like $35-55 per night.

We have used points for stays at AKL SV and are about to do so for AKL concierge. We also use AP discount (did Poly last June). We were waiting for the AP discounts for AKL, but decided to use the points (the cost is about the same for us). Generally those are 3-5 night stays, often added to a DVC stay on the same trip.
