Using park tickets early

Before I change my booking, can someone please confirm that I correct.

I am staying at WDW from 7-Jan to 15-Jan. Free dining is only for arrivals from 9-Jan. So, I planned to switch to two bookings - a room only booking for 7-Jan to 9-Jan and then a package from 9-Jan to 15-Jan.

My question - can I add extra days to the ticket I get with my package (starting 9-Jan) and pick up those tickets when I check in on 7-Jan (or when I get to guest services). In other words, can I use those park tickets before 9-Jan?

I know that I will have no dining credits until 9-Jan.

It has been reported here that you can pick up the tickets a few days early. The only piece that is hit or miss is whether or not those tickets can then be added back to your KTTW card when you officially start the package. You can make your tickets any length you want so you can make them long enough to cover those extra days.

I have read that some people had no trouble doing this and others have so I think it depends on the resort. So, if you are okay with the possibility that the tickets will have to remain separate from the KTTW card, this plan will work.

According to this FAQ, you can do it up to three days in advance.

We have done this but a PP is right that they were NOT able to be put back on the KTTW card. (Not sure this is changed, but it would be in that FAQ if it has)
