Using Mypoints for Disney Gift Cards

FYI to anyone thinking of joining mypoints I have only clicked on 5 point emails and 10 points surveys (never have bought anything through the pages) and I have got up to 3500 points in one year pretty easily... good for $25 buck gc if people have an extra 2 minutes a day I only get about 4 emails to click a day. Thanks for budget board tips on this site.

I ordered my card on February 7 and it shipped on February 19 and I had it on Feb 22. So I had a 2 week turnaround - I have heard that there are times it can take longer but they seem caught up on fulfillment right now.

I think it really depends upon what you are ordering. I ordered an Olive Garden GC and it took 5 weeks but my Barnes and Noble GC only took 2 weeks. I ordered them within days of each other.

You can also use Ebates to buy Disney gift cards, and get 5% cash back on those.

I ordered a walgreens card from my points and was succesful in buying a disney gc with it! THanks for the tip everyone. It did take awhile to come in the mail probably 5 weeks.

It used to be really good and I referred a lot of friends. I have cashed in quite a few times. Lately, however, it seems they have changed their business practices and instead of referring friends, I tell them to run the other direction. I just think that if all of those whose accounts have been cancelled had really done something wrong, they would have no problem responding to our email saying, "you did X, Y, and Z and that is why your account was cancelled." Instead, they closed them without warning, we lost all of our points and they refuse to even answer emails about it. Run the other direction!!!

I do both..I really gear toward Sunshine Rewards since you accrue in dollar amounts (well, penny amounts mainly) and can see your credits grow, plus they give Disney gift cards as rewards. Lately though, I've had some trouble with the new surveys..2 haven't ever posted..the new ones seem a little wonky. I have cashed out a $100 Disney gift card and have $28.00 toward my next one. My Points I've gotten, over time, $150 in RFC..it isn't my favorite place to eat but free makes it better.

I like MyPoints and have been a user for years. What I do NOT like are those 50 point surveys. They ones where you answer a BUNCH of specific questions (which are obviously the actual survey questions) and they they say that you were not chosen. I think they are getting their answers and then marking it as not their survey group to get away with only giving out 10 points instead of 50. Drives me nuts. I just spent 15 mins answering questions about every detail of my preference for juice and the brands I buy etc and they get the "Sorry" message. It really ticks me off.

I need to try ebates sometime.

I've been using MyPoints for about two years and haven't had a problem, other than sometimes it takes forever to receive your gift card. Sorry to hear some of you have had trouble.

thank you for the tips. i have enough for a $50 giftcard now from mypoints. we are going to disney in sept. by the end of summer i should have $100 or least $75 which will be put towards spending money. i never thought of doing that before. i am also going to sign up for sunshine rewards. thank you for the tips.

The girl at the register when I bought mine said that she didn't think it was allowed but that it was up to the register - not her. She rang it up and sure enough - it went through. I doubt this is a store to store policy. Walgreens makes money off of selling the GCs. I don't think they care how you pay for them.

I sent an email to Wahlgreens customer service hoping to get an answer to the question of whether you could use Wahlgreen's gift cards to buy other gift cards. The answer I got back a couple of days ago was that you can't use Wahlgreen's gift cards to buy any other gift card. So that is their official policy although it appears that some managers/stores allow it. Probably just depends on the cashier you get!

Why would Walgreen's care? They're still getting your money, right?

I have no idea why they care. I don't think they should either but most stores will not let you buy other gift cards with the store's gift cards. I have always thought this was a ridiculous rule - it seems to me that they should be like cash but that is most stores' policy.

Is this new? I thought Disney had a policy to not give cash back on gift cards. Has this changed?
