Using Mypoints for Disney Gift Cards

quick ? What denominations are the DisneyGiftCards? Do they have a $10, $15???

You are able to pick the amount anywhere from $15 to 100.

Just an FYI---many, if not most, stores will allow you to buy a gift card with their own store card, because they've got the 'money in hand'. That's why they often won't take checks---if the check bounces, they're out the money you activated the card for.

I didn't read this whole thread, but Sunshine Rewards issues Disney Gift cards as a reward. Save a step I use them for almost everything, and only use MyPoints for click throughs and stores that don't participate in SR. I'm close to my second $100 gc for Disney from them, and have so far used My Points for RFC at DLR DTD, but really am not that crazy about RFC.

I used my Walgreens $50 gc last night and got the Disney GC. I did, however do a little bit of shopping that I needed to do, so it all got put together..had no problem at all.

Thank you for this tidbit! I have around $100 at MyPoints that I was going to use for a Target GC but I'd really, REALLY rather get a Disney GC. I'm going to cash out today and see what happens!

Does CVS sell Disney GC's? I almost have enough points to cash out at My Points for a $25 GC, and the CVS one is 50 points less than a Walgreen's $25 card.

I'm not sure if CVS does, but even f they did, CVS does not allow you to use their gift cards to purchase other gift cards like Walgreens does.

My walgreens in the area (there are 3) wouldn't let me use a gift card to buy any other type of gift card, so if you GET a Walgreens gc, be ready to buy walgreens things, if they are picky at the ones you go to.

I was really worried about that happening but figured there are probably a good 20-30 walgreens within easy driving distance and I'd try them all if I had too!Thankfully the first one I tried which is right down the street worked for me without any trouble. I did make sure that I got in the line with the young kid behind the register rather than a manager looking type of person. My second $50 walgreens card came today and I'm hoping that I'll have an easy time of it again.

That's great that you can get the Disney card. Wish I had thought of it a few months ago.
The problem I'm having is getting any card at all!!!
I redeemed 7500 points on My Points, 3 months age for a $50.00 Wal-Mart gift card. (Figured my money would go far there) BUT I'm still waiting for my gift card!!!
I've EMailed My Points twice, and they say they are looking into it. I figure that's another way to say "tough luck, lady"

Question if you use the Walgreen gift card to buy a Disney gift card do you pay sales tax and then do you pay sales tax again when you use in FL. so like you have to pay 25 for gift card plus tax and then when you use the sales tax is deducted again from the only 25 gift card. hope I explained ok

Ditto this. My local Walgreens has a big sign up front that states CASH ONLY for giftcard purchases. So if you are planning to get a Walgreens GC to buy a Disney GC, check your local store's policy first.

I have tried Sunshine Rewards but just can't figure out how to make $ on there. I've had $12 that I got for signing up for the Disney Movie Club sitting in my account for probably a year now. Is there a way to get click-thru e-mails sent to you from SR? That's mostly what I do from MyPoints, the click-thrus. I don't have time to sit around taking surveys, especially when more often than not I'll spend 5 minutes on it to then be told I don't qualify & don't get any $!

Nope no sales tax when buying the gift card!

OUCH on the cash only...I have done it only once now and I am waiting on my second $50 card to get another. I am with others in that I would try other stores and certainly wouldn't sit around with a couple Walgreens cards and try to go in and do it.

No you don't pay sales tax. I was once again successful this morning using a $50 Walgreens GC to purchase a $50 Disney GC...whoo hoo . That was a nice extra $100 I wasn't expecting to have and wouldn't have even tried had it not been for this thread so again thank you to the OP for starting it!

Did this today no problem, bought 1 $20 Disney card and 1 $20 Lowes card, used the $10 Walgreens giftcard I had and the rest cash. Cashier didn't even blink an eye, just told me to swipe my giftcard
