This will be my first visit since the Magic Bands have been introduced. What I would like to know if anyone out there has had this happen while in WDW is if you initially use your MBs for your room key, tickets etc. and you misplace your MB and later find it can you ask for a regular room key card that does the same thing until you retrieve your original MB? Also in the interim while you are using the card is your MB still active or do they deactivate the MB? Bottom line is will the MB and the regular key card both be active at the same time?

The reason I am asking is that I might have a relative meet up with us in WDW who lives in Orlando that has an AP. She is in her 60s and if she needs to take a break during the day, I would like to be able send her to our room just to rest for an hour or so. I don't want her to over do it during the day. I wanted to know if I can just ask for a key card at the front desk that morning because if I cant then one of us would have to give up our MBs so she can go back to our room or one of us would have to go back with her just to open the door.

Thanks

Yes, you can get a regular card by asking. Both the card and your magicband are active at the same time and can be used at the same time. There is no deactivating or anything.
