Using DDE before activating AP?

We have WDW trips planned for October 2005 (with free dining) and December 2005. I just ordered my AP last week, and do not plan to activate it until our December trip. We are using old park hopper passes for the October trip, but wanted to use the AP to make "Best Rate" reservations for December.

I also want to order the DDE. If I receive it before our October trip, is it possible to use the DDE on that trip before I activate my AP?

Since the DDE card is valid for a little more than a year it has an expiration date on it. (Uusually last day of the month of issue the following year.) It was originally designed only for Florida residents. It is valid from the date of issue.

In your case if you order it in September it will be good until either 9/30/06 or 10/31/06. Your AP will be valid until 12/??/06 (with ?? being date of activation); this means if you go late next year the DDE wil have expired and have to be renewed.
