Jen, kelly and I decided to call another chat night tonight on John's site......providing this winter windy nasty mess doesn't knock our power out by then.

Well, that was a new sight. I spent the morning downstate with a patient having surgery. Coming home midday I see 5-6 black Suburbans and a van charging the other way on the Interstate, burning some major rubber. All of them had flashing grill lights and headlights, but no markings. Wondered what was going on.

Listening to the radio news a bit later, and heard the there was a hostage situation at a bank, about 30 minutes west of the town I was in. They said the suspect surrendered after the building was surrounded by snipers. I guess I just saw my first non-television SWAT team in action. I often have patient visits in that town, glad I wasn't there today.
