Useful Concierge Information

I am not sure about giving stuff to little kids, howevr last August when we stayed there they did have bottles of Apple Juice in the lounge. I don't remember if they had gummy fish, however since my family and I will be there in 2 weeks I can take a look and see.

I saw your dates and we'll be overlapping by 2 days-- we arrive on the 28th .
I know its vacation but if you have time after you get there please post a noise report so I'll know if I need to bring my sound machine and a Mickey's Express update--- I have my fingers crossed that it'll be open early(but if not something to look forward to next trip )!!!!

A friend of mine on one of her stays there was given autograph books when the woman overheard them say they would stop at the store before thier dinner at Chef Mickeys but she told me that wasn't common.

That was sure nice of the CM-- I will not be expecting anything that nice, they would be happy with just crayons!!!

We will be staying at the CR Club level in three weeks and I was wondering if they give the kids anything at check in? When we stayed at the Poly Club level last year the kids each got a sand bucket and shovel at check in with crayons. (Its the little things that make the kids happy and less for me to pack?---LOL )
Also, I saw a picture of the lounge and it looked like they had bottles of juice (like apple) out and do they have the gummy fish in the afternoon?

They have gummy sharks in the afternoon. . .my husband loves those things. I've never seen bottled juice out in the lounge, just the carafes of juice, lemonade, iced tea, etc. at the various services.

My kids used to like getting the sand buckets too. . .alas, they are no longer in sand playing or coloring mode.

I just cancelled my reservation w/ cro yesterday and rebooked through AAA for GF - Sugar Loaf 11/29-12/5/09.

The op stated if you book with aaa that you need to contact the itinerary planners yourself. Should I do this close to my 180 day mark? Can I contact the same IP I had last time? Calvin was great.

I don't think noise is going to be much of an issue. From the information I've seen, the work is on the exterior and they need access through the 6th floor rooms. It also seems that not all 6th floor rooms will be out of commission during that entire time -- maybe just one side at time? And even if there's a little noise during the day, evenings should be quiet. I will be staying in a 5th floor Value Studio from 9/29 through 10/4 so I'm sure I'll find out if the noise is bad or not!

Do you have DVC concierge rooms booked? Those are the only ones affected.

Yes, the lounge is on the 6th floor but should not be affected by the renovations. Please don't worry.

(Understandably, that is little consolation to the DVC members who are being displaced and they have every reason to be upset at the way DVC is handling the situation. )

Yes, you should contact them yourself. They will not get the ressie early from the TA booking the way they would with a Disney booking.

Calvin still works there, send the e-mail attn: Calvin if you want it to go to him.

Someone asked about concierge rooms at AKV, actually I had a friend stay there and they had a pool view for their concierge room

Standard rooms, club level at AKL now are all savannah view.
Some AKV units on 5th and 6th floor have pool views.
These units used to be AKL deluxe rooms before AKV were created and all concierge rooms back then were NOT savanna view (although MOST were).
