I requested an email with our confirmed dining times from IPO when I spoke to them on the phone while doing our planning. I received it a day or two later. If you didn't specifically request an email, they may not send them out to everyone. Call or email them and I'm sure they will send it ASAP.

Just send an email and request your list of ADRs. The IPO doesn't "typically" send the list unless you've requested one. They usually just print it out at check-in. It's certainly not a problem to provide the itinerary if you would like it in advance. I've found it's good to get the itinerary in advance to assure that everything is correct. :)
 
I'm glad everyone else is having a good experience with their IPO interactions because the CR IPO is KILLING ME. I have never had to deal with an IPO dept that doesn't answer the phone or return messages. I'm very low maintenance, very few requests and I made any changes in ressies that I needed. The second half of my trip is at AKL concierge and they're making CR IPO look like amateurs. I've dealt with Poly- no problem, AKL-no problem, CR- very scared about leaving on Sun. Asking for gold ears and a cake for my daughter has been like asking for a golden egg. Hopefully things will turn out well but so far my opinion is not good and I'm kicking myself for not going back to the Poly. Thanks for letting me vent :listen:

Wow! sorry to here that! Something must be up. I know with the GF, I hear about people getting these amazingly quick responses, and that has never happened to me with their IPO staff. I emailed the CR's IPO last weekend regarding some plans I wanted for our Thanksgiving trip and within 24 hours they emailed me back. Lucky, this time, I guess!!

Don't worry - the concierge staff at the CR are different people than the ones you deal with when you make IPO requests. The CR concierge staff is FABULOUS. You will really enjoy them. I have stayed at all the deluxes (except BWI) and they have always remained the best, IMHO. They have come thru for us over and over again for things.

Thanks for the encouragement, I actually just spoke to Emily (she is a godsend) at the CR concierge and she took care of everything for me. Kinda not fair for her since she's on the floor and not in IPO. Thanks again for listening and your opinion.
 
The funny thing is, the GF, Poly and CR IPO staff is the same. CR IPO is also the IPO for the GF and Poly- unfortunately it looks like you have run into a non-magical person. Hope it goes better for you.

And I agree the 14th floor staff is outstanding! Always going the extra mile.

So far the CR IPO has handled all of our requests. They made our adr's and emailed up our list, then even made some changes I requested. They have ordered a Mickey Mouse cake for our dd's b-day and some roses and chocolate tuxedos for my wife for our anniversary. I also told them that our dds need lactose free milk and they said that they would make sure the kitchen had some on hand for our stay. It does seem like it is easier to get a response through email.

See! It will be great!! Those CMs that work concierge at the CR are terrific. I am sure she doesn't mind at all - it is her job & I am sure it isn't too difficult to get those ears and order that cake for you. You are paying for their services, so I am glad you got the chance to use them - and not be stressing over IPO.

i have seen comments from some months ago about both, has anyone stayed recently at either resort at cl? we like the afternoon tea offerings (teas, scones, strawberries!) do both offer? i had seen somewhere that one level of cl at gf doesn't have tea. do either offer beer in the evening? thanks.

Both Sugar Loaf, RPC and AKL have afternoon tea. The GF serves the strawberry trifle on select days only. I'm not sure if the AKL offers the same. All three lounges serve beer in the evenings.
 
Just wanted to report that we're leaving for GF concierge on Saturday, and yesterday afternoon I got a call from Cynthia at the concierge desk, wanting to verify our information, arrival times, checking to see if I had any questions, etc. That was a pleasant surprise!

She identified herself as being from the GF, but I did notice that the caller ID said "Contemporary" resort. ;) Ah, well, who cares. The call was a nice touch regardless!

I have had the same thing happen to me. I believe they share an office - IPO anyway. I have also had a call from the Polynesian on my caller ID when it was the GF concierge calling.

It is nice to get a call, though. :goodvibes It makes it seem more "real"!! ;)

Ohmygawsh - I think I can solve the mystery! In January we are resort hopping from Contemporary, to Animal Kingdom Lodge to Boardwalk. Got an email from Contemporary IPO last Friday. Replied with ADR requests for just the days we will be at CR. I told them I also had other dining requests for the days at AKL and BWI. I have them in a Word document and should I send it to each respective resort IPO? Yesterday, they emailed back and said,

"It is completely up to you if you want you can send them to those resorts. But we are now all global so we could do those for you."

It was signed IPO Grand Floridian. How 'bout that! :teeth:

Aha! But for those of us who haven't been there before...they do have a concierge desk in each resort, right? If so, does anyone know if the Sugarloaf has its own desk, or if they share with the RPC?
 
There is a concierge desk on the first floor of Sugar Loaf right in the lounge area.

But the concierge staff who work those desks are not the same as those you contact when you plan ahead of your visit although for all I know there may be some crossover.
 
OK...concierge beginner here...I've just made ressies for 2 nights in Oct at AKL with a Sunrise safari the morning of check out...

Do I need to contact the staff to let them know when I'm arriving??? and can I request a view or is it better just to wait until I get there to see what I'm assigned??

I don't need any ADR's as I've already planned them myself. Is there any other goodies that concierge can do that I should be aware of...
 
How fun! The safari sounds amazing.

I would contact them right away if there is anything you want to ask of them including a request for a view. They will probably email you an itinerary planner and in that you can let them know your estimated time of arrival.
