Useful Concierge Information

Yesterday evening I booked a CL room at WL. This morning there was an email from IPO waiting for me. I thought I would have to contact them first, but they seem to be right on top of things. :flower3:

My question is about the Wildlife Discovery Excursion. Is it safe for a pregnant woman to do? There was one safari excursion - I can't recall which one - that said it wasn't for expectant mothers. This one doesn't have a disclaimer.

The wildlife excursion should be fine - you are in a slow-moving vehicle. But, I would email the IPO just to make sure.

I asked for them ( the WL ipo) if I courl get some stuff jiuces soda put in the fridge. I offered to pay, Brandon from the IPO said no problem and there was no charge. I think they will do almost anything you ask, just make sure you offer to $ sometimes you will sometimes youll be surprised.

I ordered harry and david gift baskets for the IPO that were delivered before I got there. I also bouth virgin mega store giftcards for brandon and some others at the WL as a way of saying thank you for all they had done for my family.

Wow, sounds like some of you have been very lucky. On our last stay at AKL this past December I ask the IPO if they could put some water and Diet Soda in our frig. They told me they would be happy to, however it comes from "In room dining" and we would be paying their charges. :confused3

The charge was pretty steep. We ended up renting a car and just stopped off at a store for bottled water and two different kinds of soda.

This was our third stay with concierge at AKL. They are wonderful and took care of so many of our arrangements.

:wave2: Hi TammiMcMan.

Do you REALLY need to tip or leave gift baskets? How much help are they really giving you? I am paying big bucks for my cl stay in September and beyond making some ADR's for me, I can't see that they will be providing much more? Am I missing something here (I can be slow at times regarding stuff)

Just be aware that if something happens to the van, they will put you on one of the regular Safari vehicles, which can be a bit bumpy. (The van broke down just before our Excursion this December.)

you dont have to
i did because I was chatting with brandon and the staff for months prior my visit. They did alot for me and I wanted to thank them for that.
They didnt have to leave gifts for my family. They did not have to stock our fridge and stuff. They were great.

We went on the Wildlife Excursion in December (just before the van broke down). :) The ride definitely gets quite bumpy in several places. So I would not suggest you ride it if you're pregnant.

How does one go about sending a thank you gift to the IPO people? Our trip to WLCL is 20 days away and they have been so helpful! I'd like to be sure they know how much I appreciate their efforts. :cheer2:

You need to get the mailing address for the IPO office. When I stay it is at the BW, but IPO is at the YC. I always send it there in care of the IPO.

Wendy, your daughters are just precious!:cutie: princess:

We stayed at the Atrium Club over Christmas and had free internet access - does anyone know if they offer this at the Poly concierge as we will be staying there in the summer for a few nights to coincide with Tikifest

was that because you had it in your room right?

they dont that in the rooms at teh Poly and I dont think there is a business center at the poly like at the CR so I would say no

I'm just wondering - what is the normal tip for turndown service?

If they do a quick straightening of the room, I imagine we should leave something, but I don't see it being as much as the regular daily cleaning. What (if anything) does everyone normally leave for the turndown crew?

We leave $3 an evening for the turndown service at BWI. I leave it on the nightstand in between the beds in a mousekeeping envelope that my DD and I make. Then our last night we leave $5. Hope that helps!!:)

Howdy. Is it true that I should contact the Poly and tell them we are coming and staying LVC? Or will the staff at Poly email me in a few months? Should I make my own ADRs or wait for concierge? Trips not till Nov./Dec. Im all new to this.
Thanks. :wizard: :wizard:

I know this is probably in there, but I think it's changed and I don't know when it changed. What is the difference between the two Conteporary Resort CLs. I hear different things. Atrium is Concierge lite and Tower is full Concierge. Atrium is full concierge and Tower is just for the suites now. They are both the same. Etc. Can anyone tell me definitively what the deal is with the two Concierge levels at Contemporary? Thanks.

At one point in time the 12th Floor, which is now called the Atrium Club, was "concierge lite". However, as far as services and food/beverage offerings, they are now exactly the same. The 14th Floor, now called Tower Club, has 11 suites and 5 standard rooms. There have been rumors that it will become all suites, but nothing official has been announced at this point. I have not stayed at the Atrium Club since the rehab and I hear it is very nice now and had a great lounge. I think the main difference between the two is that the Tower Club feels a bit excluded from the rest of the resort and it has a higher cost. For example, the floor is enclosed so you cannot see the Grand Canyon Concourse from that floor. The lounge is on the small side, but there are usually very few people in there based my personal experience. The Tower Club also has huge balconies. They are probably twice as deep as a regular balcony so it makes the room feel larger.

Does anybody have the contact information for the Wilderness Lodge Concierge Level Itinerary Planning team? I just booked a room here and would like to contact them with some questions about our resort and our CL benefits. E-mail address and/or phone number would be great.

Thanks.

Since my family and I have stayed on the Atrium Club since the renovation I can give some info about it. It's about 2 x bigger then the Tower Club lounge since they took out 3 or 4 rooms to make sure of that. After that everything about them is the same. They both give the exact same breakfast items, same afternoon and evening foods each day and you get the exact same service from the Cast Members who work up there. Contemporary_Man is correct that the 14th floor is more expensive so if you wanted a standard room up there it would cost you more per night compared to a standard room on the 12th floor. In some ways not seeing down on the Grand Canyon Concourse floor could be a good or bad thing. It's good so you don't hear any noise from Chef Mickey's, however in some cases not hearing anything might make the 14th floor to quiet. Finally if the 14th floor were to become all suite rooms I don't see that happening for a long time since all of the rooms up there were just renovated and that includes the standard rooms. Basically if you just need a standard room then go with the Atrium Club since it's less expensive, however if you need more room for your family then go with a 1 or 2 bedroom suite on the Tower Club.

Also here are photos from Allearsnet.com of the Atrium Club however the only pictures they have of the Tower Club is before the rooms were renovated and no pictures of the lounge, pre renovation and post renovation. At least you can see pics of the Atrium Club lounge. http://www.allearsnet.com/acc/g_contm.htm
