Can your AP be put on your conceirge room key? So you don't have to carry an extra 2 cards around. :goodvibes

First time staying at Poly concierge. I am wondering if they can make reservations for you for the Food and Wine Festival's Signature Dinners, or Party of the Senses? I have read that these are hard reservations to get, so I would think that it would be a huge plus if they can. Thanks!! :)

i like the deluxe rooms at the WL but if you are on the first floor and want to go to the lounge thats a LONG haul several times a day
I would probably ask them to stock my fridge with some water, soda and juice boxes
they did that for our family last august, we were on teh 7th floor but it was still nice

I have been looking through numerous threads & can't seem to find a good/concise answer. We are planning on going to WDW either the last week of November or first week of December 07. It will just be myself, DH & our 4 yo DS. DS is asking to go to WDW so we figured we would take the plunge. DH (after viewing the Vacation planning DVD) decided he wanted to stay at either the BC or YC. Now, after talking to several people, he wants to stay CL at YC.

I understand the offerings in the CL food wise have changed & some people have not enjoyed the attentiveness of the staff. DH is a bit of a foodie & loves Baileys as his cordial of choice--especially on vacation. Heck, he can drink $20/night worth of Baileys. In your opinion, is it worth it? We are planning on doing the Dining Plan so we won't be looking to replace meals (obviously). In addition, I am a Diet Coke addict! Do they have Diet Coke in the CL lounge or will I have to purchase a mug.

We are splurging and staying at three deluxe hotels - all concierege level.

Boardwalk Inn - September 27 - 29, 2007

Animal Kingdom Lodge - September 29 - October 1, 2007

Polynesian Resort - October 1 - 6, 2007

This is our fifth trip to Disney and we are really excited. We have only stayed at value and moderates before this trip.:cool1: :cool1:

Have a wonderful vacation! What made you decide on these three resorts? We're doing BWI / GF / AKL in December. This will be our very first trip to WDW so I want to make it a special one. I doubt if we'd be able to come back anytime soon. It would be a real stretch for us to make this a regular thing since it's so far for us and too hard to take off from school and work.

reading about the Boardwalk Inn made us want to try it. We wanted to do the Sunrise Safari; which helped make our decision about that hotel. And Tony has always wanted to stay in a monorail resort. There are only the two of us so it should not be too much of a hassle.

I just booked my July AKL Concierge stay online. I'm getting the general idea from reading through this thread that "I" need to contact them via email to let them know I'm coming otherwise they have no clue - would this be correct?

This thread is full of great info - almost too much to take in!

Here is my two cents on the "is it worth it" question. I do not think it is the best dollar for dallar value out there. But it is very nice and I have always enjoyed doing CL. I have done it both ways and there is a difference.
I think customer service/attentiveness is becoming an increasingly tricky subject not only in Disney but in most service areas. I have been lucky and never encountered anyone rude or downright unhelpful. If you do, I would politely ask to speak with soemone above them and I'm sure the situation would be rectified immediatly. I know it is a highly debateable question if we should have to do this, but in today's reality sometimes it is necessary. I would also recommend being proactive and specific with your requests from the concierge staff. Also, recognize that CL does not offer any kind of priority seating, etc for Disney restaurants, activities, etc. (They do offer a few activities not available to the general public. I would send an email and ask what they are to engage them in your vacation planning.) Realistic expectations help to make a great CL experience. Whew! Thanks for letting me get that off my chest.

The snacks are good, but not great (I consider myself a foodie too so I am a bit of a tough critic). Enjoy it for what it is. I would email the Con. staff @ the Baileys if you don't get an answer on the thread. I don't remember it, but I don't normally drink it. Sorry!

I do drink Diet Coke! I think they lost money on that one with me. I asked them to keep my room stocked with it and I would always stop by and grab one for the road. I don't see why you would need a mug.

I hope this helps you make your decision. Sorry for the long post.

HI,

We will be staying 1 night at the CL at the BW for our wedding night complimentary of Disney. We have never stayed on a CL before. What can we expect? Can we check in early? We have to check in on the day of our wedding so we are limited on time. Is there anything we can do in advance? I don't think we will be able to take full advatage of the CL because we won't be getting into our room until after 10pm at night because of our wedding. What can we expect in the morning? Will they get us hard to get reservations at some of the restaurants in Disney?

Sorry for all the questions but I am just now starting to think about this as most of the wedding plans are completed.

Yesterday evening I booked a CL room at WL. This morning there was an email from IPO waiting for me. I thought I would have to contact them first, but they seem to be right on top of things. :flower3:

My question is about the Wildlife Discovery Excursion. Is it safe for a pregnant woman to do? There was one safari excursion - I can't recall which one - that said it wasn't for expectant mothers. This one doesn't have a disclaimer.

Also, has anyone had the mommy-to-be massage at the GF spa? What did you think?

Thank you.

.

I thought you had to get whatever snacks and drinks you wanted from the CL. I didn't know you could ask them to stock items in your room. Is this true for all resorts? I would like bottled water in the room and was planning on buying a case. We drink A LOT of water all day and night.

Well, basically you'd still be buying the case, you're just paying Disney instead of going to the store (which is probably alot more expensive, but convenient). Concierge level can pretty much purchase anything on your behalf and have it placed in your room refrigerator. You won't pay for their time, but you will be charged for the product.

Actually, they never charged me for any of the sodas they put in my room. I had made friends with the CMs in the lounge, and they would also put some water and DC in my refridgerator. I would also stop by the lounge and grab a few DCs for the day. I don't really know their policy on what comes with their rooms, I might have just gotten lucky (we were also staying in a suite so that might have made a difference).

On a totally unrelated note, I emailed the GF and I got a lovely email from the con. staff. They sounded really excited about helping me plan a great trip. Yeah!!!!! Just 6 more months.

Were they the very large glass bottles of water that are found in the lounge? Perhaps because it was a suite, they didn't charge. Glad you had such a nice experience.

No, they were just the plastic bottles you could carry with you. This was at the BWI. Maybe I had a Magical Moment before Disney was handing out certificates for them:).

The individual bottles come from room service and not club level. They switched over to those big glass ones quite a while ago. As you said though, the suites may be different. I know on the Disney cruise line, the refrigerators in the suites were kept stocked at no additional charge.

Do you tip the conceirge staff? They have been so helpful in my planning stages, I am wondering if people tip them and if so how much is appropriate?

It's considered a non-tipping position and they do have a strict policy in place about CM's accepting tips. Also, even though you may be dealing with one person in regards to correspondence, there is a whole team that's working behind the scenes to plan your vacation. These are not usually the CM's you meet at the resort.

That being said, I've sent a chocolate basket down to the IPO team for the Epcot resorts. They did an amazing job planning a surprise vacation. I simply addressed it to the staff. Hope that helps.
