Useful Concierge Information

Hi, I just discovered this thread, wow!! We'll be staying AKL concierge in December. Originally we were going in August/ free dining, buy had to cancel because my DD was involved in a riding accident and won't be recovered enough to make the August trip. She is kinda bummed since we were going on her birthday, but I was wondering if it would be ok to set aside a day to celebrate on our December trip?
We are all really excited about being at WDW for Christmas and this is our first trip with concierge!!

I would certainly set aside a day to celebrate our daughters belated birthday. So many people make their WDW trip for a special occassion. Not everyone can attend on the exact date of their occassion. With the situation of your daughters accident I can not imagine anyone would object to celebrating in December. As long as your daughter doesn't mind.

Be sure to contact IPO at AKL they are wonderful. If you want something special for your daughter they will be happy to make some suggestions. We will be at AKL in December also, however our trip is a bit earlier.

I saw some indication on other threads that there will be changes to the types of rooms offered for the AKL concierge level, instead of deluxe rooms, only standard. It may be different price points, but I could not tell. Anyone have any insight?

We are traveling with another family to WDW and they have made the ADRs for the meals we are doing together (through the GF IPO where they are staying). Can I send this information to the Poly IPO (where we are staying)and will they be able to add it to our itinerary?

I saw some indication on other threads that there will be changes to the types of rooms offered for the AKL concierge level, instead of deluxe rooms, only standard. It may be different price points, but I could not tell. Anyone have any insight?

I don't think that makes sense as the standard rooms are on lower floors and thus further away from the lounge.

We are doing a split stay between GF RPC and AKL CL. I am having IPO at AKL do all of my ADRs, including the ones for the nights we are at GF. Everytime I have a change made, I send them to GF so they can update our itinerary (including the ADR res #). I think you should go ahead and send your information so that they can update your itinerary for you!

Can I get tickets to MNSSHP through the concierge? What about tickets for the Funai Golf Classic?
I'm getting ready to get in contact with them and I wasn't sure if they got these tickets or if I do that?
Over the years I've only used them for dining and spas. I've never ordered anything extra. Like I said before I never knew some of those extra goodies were available.

Does anyone know if you can still ask for yogurt for breakfast at the Polynesian?

The same thing is happing to us on our upcoming trip. We were going to stay in SL with our friends, but I missed the Polynesian to much. We figured the two resorts are close enough to each other. My friend is doing our ADRs through the GF IPO. I didn't think about forwarding the information to the PR IPO. I'm glad you mentioned it.

I would like to dine at V&A chef's table on the first night of our honeymoon. We are satying in the RPC at GF. Is it appropriate for me to e-mail the RPC IPO to help me secure these reservations or do I just have to take my chances with calling on the 180th day?

In other words, how far in advance can I expect IPO to offer me assistance?

I haven't had any rumblings to this effect. It defeats the purpose of having a concierge room (aka - deluxe) if they give you a standard room which is smaller than a deluxe room with lounge access. The deluxe rooms on the 5th floor is what they normally put guests in along with the rooms on the 6th floor. It's not a bad walk to the lounge from the 5th floor.


Mirlow - I'm not 100% positive about the golf tickets but I think they can get you the event tickets. I'm also pretty sure they can accommodate you on the yogurt also.

CastleLight - First - CONGRATS! Second, you send that e-mail like this very minute. The chef's table is very hard to come by. I thought you could book this out much further than the 180 day mark. Like a year in advance! Get on the horn and e-mail them ASAP! Let them know you're honeymooners. It may not help, but it couldn't hurt to let them know.

I just got my letter from the IPO to start the planning for my Feb. 2007 stay.

Now staying at the concierge level seems so much more real. I'm so excited.

Do the concierge food offerings include hot water for tea throughout the day, and cream for coffee. DH will be bringing his own beans and just wants a supply of hot water for his special filter and cream.....

The Concierge floors do offer hot water for people that want to make tea & there is cream that is put next to the coffee. So your husband should be ok.

I don't understand why it isn't - makes no sense to me.

Definately sign up for sunrise safari it was awesome and only open to AKL Concierge guests. Also there are great activities at the resort check them out!!!

I haven't been in the AKL con rooms yet but if they are like the rest I'd say definitely! 2 adults in one bed, 2 kids in another and one on the daybed which i PERSONALLY found more comfortable than the actual bed.
