I was checking prices on Etsy and things are expensive, especially for something we’ll probably wear once. Has anyone had luck finding pirate stuff on eBay or in their local thrift stores? We haven’t sailed since 2016. Do they still provide bandanas?

I just made some up. For my son thrift store jeans/pants cut off with a jagged edge, black & white stripped mock turtleneck I had on hand. Rope for belt.

For me I had a mid length skirt I wore with a white blouse and "corset" my daughter made. Husband got a vest made with felt and glued on gold braid I had in my sewing kit.

Great idea!

We have purchased these in the past and they hold up well.

My husband actually has a pirate Halloween costume from a few years ago and I have a mermaid costume. Would that be weird?! Maybe the mermaid, right? LoL

We sailed on the Wish just before Christmas 2022 and there were no bandanas provided. Then, we sailed on the Fantasy over Christmas 2022 and bandanas were provided. I'm unsure if they just forgot on the Wish or if they had run out.

On the 3 night sailings I have not received bandanas. I don't know on the 4night Wish sailings if they are given out or not?

We cruised on the Magic from New York this October, and I'm pretty sure we saw a couple mermaids. Go for it!

We also received bandanas... As far as I'm aware only the wish isn't providing bandanas.

They had an official pirate night on our 4-night Wish sailing, so I would think they would have handed out bandanas. We even did the pirate makeovers in the BBB, where we did receive bandanas for that. There just were no official bandanas in the stateroom. I should have asked our stateroom host, but it never occurred to me.

For those wondering, we did a 4-night on the Wish in August and did NOT receive bandanas.
We each had Jolly Roger shirts to wear and brought bandanas from a previous cruise.
Really, just about anything goes on pirate night. Many people weren't dressed at all while many had full-on costumes on. And there were just as many like us that were somewhere in the middle.
Spend what you can afford and just enjoy the night. :)
