Use year?

I think we're going to take the plunge to buy a resale. Which Use Year should I look for provided everything else is equal (price, resort, etc.) I'm thinking most of our vacations will be in February and March. I'm thinking a March or April use year would be bad. If something happened where we had to cancel our trip, we wouldn't be able to bank our allotment. Any suggestions or other considerations? Thanks!

If you will travel in February or March, a February Use Year would serve you well and allow plenty of time to reuse points if you cancel. (If you have a Feb trip and a March Use Year and cancel the trip within 30 days, you'd have to use the points by the end of Feb or lose them.)

Otherwise, Use Year is simply the month your points are renewed each year.
