We like to visit WDW in Dec. Would we be able to book Dec 2005 (and future years) with the current points at the 11 month window, or do we have to do some type of banking/ borrowing transaction?
Thanks in advance, Murphy
You will need to bank the 2004 points if you want to use them for a stay between 10/1/2005 and 9/30/2006.
Make yourself a chart like this:
2004 use year points go into my account on 10/1/2004.
They are good for a stay between 10/1/2004 and 9/30/2005.
2005 use year points go into my account on 10/1/2005.
They are good for a stay between 10/1/2005 and 9/30/2006.
2006 use year points go into my account on 10/1/2006.
They are good for a stay between 10/1/2006 and 9/30/2007.
etc.
Use year has nothing to do with when you call to make the reservation. That is always 11 months (or less) ahead of your desired check out date for your home resort and 7 months (or less) ahead of your desired check out date for a non-home resort.
Points do not have to be in your account when you make the reservation. They only need to be there when you arrive.
The dates of your stay determine which year's points you use.
If you have an October use year, a December 2005 stay would fall inside your 2005 use year. You need to use points that are valid during your 2005 use year for that stay.
So, that means you could:
* use 2005 use year points and/or
* use points from your 2004 use year if you banked them in time and/or
* borrow 2006 use year points.
HTH.
Best wishes and good luck with the resale!
