Use points at other Disney hotels?

I know I can use my points at hotels (Contemporary, Floridian) and MK resorts (Coronado Springs, Port Orleans) and Fort Wilderness Campground BUT when or why not other locations? i.e., Pop Century (we LOVE that place)! We have made a few last minute trips and found DVC resorts sold out so we paid to stay at Pop Century. I would have been nice to pay with points.

Any plans to open ALL Disney hotels & resorts to DVC members?

What about the upcoming re-furb of the Treehouse Villas? Are they going to DVC status?

Why can't we use points at the Values? Take your choice of answers

1) Belief that it would demean DVC and reduce the perceived value
2) It would be hard to explain why the value resorts cost more than DVC studios
3) Disney doesn't want to encouarge use of the Disney Collection since they have trouble renting out DVC units through CRO.

Whatever the answer, doesn't expect it to change anytime soon.

I think the main reason is that you would use more points staying at a value than you would at DVC. That alone makes me want to just pay cash and take more trips that year!

You can get a room at Pop Century or the All Stars for less than the transfer fee of $95.

Or rent your points for cash... and book the values. Personally... I bought DVC because I like the space. The values are tiny! I dont find staying there to be pleasant at all. We arrived (All Star) at midnight... then checked out 8am to move to OKW. That was 8 hours too long... and I slept 7.5 of them.
