Do you think it would be best to use our MM pass on Saturday, Sunday, or Tuesday during the 3rd week in March? We have 5 day hopper passes for March 19-23.

There is fairly uniform opinion on this forum that it is best to use MM on the first day you can - because you will have more energy and it will be easier to wake up. After a few park days pulling kids out of bed gets progressively harder.

This is especially true for folks who fly in from a more eastern time zone and will already be waking up earlier on day 1.

IME, the least crowded MM day is Thursdays. I think that'd because people doing long weekends tend to come in Thursday or Friday and leave Tuesday (and use MM then). But, that's not an option.

My vote would be for Tuesday. When I've done MM on weekends it's always crowded and takes more time to get through the lines in that one hour, so you get less done. On weekdays there tends to be less people coming in and you can get more rides done in that hour then you can on the weekends.

I agree with HG.

Where will you be coming from? If from the Central or Eastern zone, you'll be up that first day (on Sat.) at 5-6am anyway....might as well go in & enjoy Fantasyland. :thumbsup2

Also, what is DL's opening time for that Tuesday?? (the only reason i might deviate from the "earlier in the trip the easier to get up" strategy is if DL has a 10am opening one of the days & it gets me in at 9am)?

Great question! Thanks for asking it...

Our first time in Disney will be next month and I'm going to take this advice!

I should add I like the weekday ones when you get in "early" at 9am rather than having to be at the gates prior to 7am to get in for a 7am opening. Our first day at DL, we did the Mickey and Friend's breakfast at PCH grill and then went to MM (Thursday) and got there on time. It was fantastic!

That's the other part I was considering - park opening time. On March 19th and 20th, the park opens at 8, which mean early entry is at 7. How much does a 7 am opening time on the weekend impact crowds, compared to 8 during the week?

I'm sure there are a million other people who want to get the most bang for their buck like me. In my fantasy world, I want the park to myself for awhile :) I wish I could live on Main Street, and wake up everyday to play in Disneyland.

Personally, if I'm there I'll only use my MM on a Saturday and here's why:

- The weekends on a whole are busier than the weekdays so getting that extra hour in before the crowds hit can be a huge blessing. The weekdays are generally less crowded leaving more than enough time to get everything you want to do in whereas on a weekend you'll be waiting in longer lines so you might as well knock a few out early.

- The time that MM is offered makes an impact. In my experience there are far more people who attend MM on the weekdays than on Saturdays because they don't have to get up as early. A lot of people wont want/be able to get up in time for that 7a MM as opposed to that 8a MM. An hour of sleep makes a lot of difference to some people. I've always seen longer lines for MM on Thursdays than I have on Saturdays.

I've never seen HUGE amounts of people awake so early for MM, especially the earlier it is. I think that many more people prefer to sleep!
