Use dining plan AND pay cash?

Quick question:
Say I'm in Epcot at a TS restaurant, child 1 is napping, or half asleep and won't want to eat. Child 2 (age 10) is crabby and doesn't want to order off the adult menu because the food is "weird" and just wants nuggets. Can I "save" her TS credit for her when she decides she wants a steak at the next place and just pay cash for her kids meal and still use our credits for us?
I think our TS ressies are going to outnumber our credits and I'd rather use hers when she really wants to eat (and is a better financial value) for us.

Yep, just make sure to tell the CM when they run your card and double check the credits to make sure the transaction was handled correctly.
