So I cancelled our tickets with their changes....leave here late, get there later. Leave there earlier and get back home earlier....I don't think so.

I booked with Southwest. We leave home earlier and get there earlier. We are now leaving there on Sunday, instead of Saturday. It is also costing us $330.00 LESS.

So here is a wrap-up: stay longer and cost less.........WOOHOO!!!

I just cancelled our Poly ressies and called WDW to let them know that we are now going to Universal instead. They wre so upset that they offered to keep us at the Poly concierge for free, with free access to all the parks, free food and drinks and give us $2000.00 spending money...oh and...

Yaaaawwwnnnn......mmmmm, sorry, I was just napping while typeing. I just had the best dream!!! I love those mid-morning naps! ;)

It's not very often that I read these boards and actually LOL. That was very cute.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if WDW would even give one thing free. I was at the BWV on Sept 16 through 21 and they were 10% full. I asked them if I were to stay a little longer could I get a reduced rate. No way. I would need to pay the full rate of $279/night. Needless to say, we did stay but off-site where is was reasonable.

Congratulations. Wish I were going back.

how were you able to change airlines when your flights weree cancelled? we were to leave this thur on continenal but our early AM fligh was cancelled and wee weere put on a much later flight and likeyou leaving earlier we had decided to pot phone our trip until things settle down a bit but when i called the airlines the best they would do for us is change the tickets for the $100 change fee and we have up to a year to use them. i was actully hoping to get refunded and start over when we can go again and we also have to pay any differnece in the ticket prices needless to say i was not real happy:mad: on top of all that we we were never notified of the changes even though thay said we should have been by this time i found out about it wwwhen i called to cancelled this has not been fun

I feel so terrible for you,Dave. What kind of business is Southwest making you stay longer and on top of that saving you money?hehehe:D Hope you have a great vacation.;)

The same thing happened to me this morning... on Delta... I was checking the airfare to see if they had dropped so I could get credit... couldn't find our flights anywhere! So I looked up my itinerary... and they had us down for 4 flights, but only two were "confirmed"... but these weren't the two I had booked! So I called... it turns out... they've just started entering the flight cancellations for November! No call, nothing... they just put us on different flights! I asked her what would happen if that wasn't acceptable... and she told us they would have to refund our money... so now I'm debating... we actually get there two hours earlier, and leave 45 minutes later... so it really doesn't affect my schedule... however, I would like to reduce my cost, since I purchased these tickets back when airfares were still rather high! Thanks for giving me the idea to check southwest!

Erika,
When we booked some flights with continental a few weeks ago, I asked If I could receive a voucher for the difference in price if the price went down. He told me that I could. You should ask for a voucher for the difference in price. Erin

I have already gotten one voucher... think they'll give me another? :D

Called Southwest... they aren't any cheaper than Delta at this point, only more stable!

Dznypal,

This is what I was told: because the change in flight times was greater than 2 hrs we were entitled to a refund. I called our travel agent and she thought that I was nuts. So, I called USAir back and was told that we were indeed entitled to a refund.

After my wife and I talked about it and after we tried to find a better flight but couldn't we decided to take a later flight. After they cancelled THAT flight and put us on a later flight that had a 3 hr layover we decided to get the refund. Then I booked onto Southwest. You don't get a seat assignment but we will be at WDW by noon!!

After I spoke to another travel agent I was told that the airlines are required(?) to give a refund if your flight times change by 2 hrs or more.

Nice flight switch, Dave!

After reading this post, though, I think I'd better go back & check on my Delta flights again! I've checked them a couple of times and they were still there, but that was right after we got home from our Sept. trip. I hope they stay as they are. It will be hard for us to beat $80.00/ea. round trip!
