We've only flown on SW before and I was wondering if USA3000 is similiar to SW? If you've flown w/USA3000 berfore i'd love to hear your opinions...good or bad!

If you do a search on this board you'll find plenty of threads on USA 3000.
I did do a search but didn't find any recent ones (perhaps I didn't search correctly?).
I was hoping someone may have had experience with them recently, perhaps within the past 4-5 months.

We flew them 2 yrs ago and they were fine. Honestly I have flown all the major airlines and quite a few of the minor ones and as a general non-business type flier and I don't see much difference in any of them. As a business flier there are some differences but your run of the mill coach travel is about the same.

I have heard this airline because it is largely charter does cancel a bit more but we didn't experience that.

I flew them back in May of last year and it was fine.

The major differences I saw- they are very strict with the size of your carry on baggage. I had to check a bag that I normally would have flown with as a carryon. They have small overhead bins, that's the reason for it.

Also, they are a charter so if a flight is missed or cancelled, you don't have many options and may have to wait a couple of days for the next scheduled flight out. I would strongly suggest travel insurance if you use USA 3000.

Flight was comfortable enough, comparable to Air Tran- no frills, decent service, no problems. I would fly them again.

We flew them in Jan Cleveland to Orlando. They had the right times on the right dates for us. No complaints. I just got an email for $10 off EACH one way type in GOLDEN (all caps). SW is still easier as far as cancelling or changing w/no charges and they are finally adding nonstops from Cleveland so it will be a tough call for us. Of course, we also liked airtran out of Akron/Canton as well.

I haven't used them but my best friend used USA3000 about two months ago and raved about how much she liked it: fantastic price, outstanding service, good food, etc. No problems on either leg.
We are seriously considering using them for our upcoming trip. Our only concern was if they cancelled the flight themselves for some reason, and the next regularly scheduled flight wasn't for another two or three days from our departing airport - not good for us to catch our Disney Cruise. I spoke to a manager at length about it and he assured me that if that should ever happen they either refund your money to get another flight yourself, or they would book you on another carrier within 24 hrs. of the original flight. We are planning on going down a few days earlier anyway, so at least we know in advance the worst case scenario. I think it will be okay.

We used them once back in Dec. 2005. 6 days before we were to leave they called us to let us know that our return leg of our flight was cancelled. Since they have limited flights into and out of Chicago, they had nothing available to get us back home unless we decided to leave a day early. So went to good old reliabe Southwest and was able to book our return flight with them and saved $28 per flight!!
So with that experience under our belt, we are not big fans of USA3000. Not enough schedule flights for our liking and we always still seem to get better deals at SW.
